Due to a friday night leaving party I ended up staying here yesterday.
The good - its cheap (ish) at about 120 a night, the service was good, polite and friendly, more on later, and the bed and shower were fine. Generally, not much else you need in a quick overnighter.
On arrival I gave my name. Three times. The first language of reception staff was clearly not English. In fact, no-one was English. Reception, bar staff, waiting staff, all eastern european.
Not specifically an issue (the English that used to have worked there would all have been out getting benefits) but it did lead to some comedy moments. The whole hotel actually had the feel of an eastern European replica of an English "BNB". Like a Polish Fawlty Towers in Richmond!
Breakfast was a mixed experience. The staff, again, friendly, again, foreign. Super nanny was blaring out in the corner (Sat, 8am?) - I asked for it to be moved to a news channel. No bother - but again, just a little out of step. Who watches super nanny at 8am? Who plays it for guests in a breakfast area?
The coffee was served in a tiny pot and quite lukewarm. Cold by the time I drank it. Toast arrived. Nothing to eat it with - it was just dunked on the table in a basket as two uncut toasted slices. Went to retrieve a plate and condiments.

There was a free continental style breakfast - looked fine. I opted for the full English. Hands down the most awful full one I've ever had. I'm guessing the chef was foreign too! I'm afraid I'm fussy on a FE.
1 Sausage. The cheapest one I've tasted. One bite, spat out, left.
A thimble of beans.
A tomato. I asked for it to be removed. Lost in translation.
The scrambled, bacon and mushrooms were edible, but nothing special.
So would I go again. Maybe. If I had to be in the area for work. Get a Starbucks breakfast next time. For a weekend in London as an out of London cheap place to stay. Not on your nelly.More
