“"Guest House" NOT "Hotel"”
Reviewed 20 October 2013 via mobile

This establishment has a Visit England Four Star rating. However, this is a "Guest House" rating NOT a "Hotel" rating. So, despite the name - Richmond Inn Hotel - it is not properly a four star hotel. I felt misled and therefore was disappointed with what is a good to average B&B. The bed was very good; the breakfast very poor.

Had a lovely stay at the Richmond Inn. The staff were all very pleasant and the room was lovely - big and very comfortable bed with great pillows, good-sized room, coffee mugs, air-conditioning, 24-hour reception and bar. It was very close to train/tube which was perfect. They serve a great continental breakfast. The only downside was the parking which was very limited and we had been parked in when we tried to leave but that was sorted fairly easily.

Hotel location was very convenient for Richmond shopping & stations. I had a good price for a twin room. £95. Room was comfortable and the whole hotel was very clean and the staff were very helpful. My only small complaint was that the room's bathroom window (room 45) had no blind or curtain. The ground floor room backed onto the hotel garden/car park and I was concerned that I and my 14 year old granddaughter could be seen from outside when the light was on.

Stayed for a couple of nights, mainly because the other hotels ranked above this one were totally non-negotiable on prices, (especially Richmond Gate wanting £50 for breakfast and parking). The previous reviews are right about Breakfast here, if the quality was sorted this would have gained them an extra star. However the staff are lovely, very helpful and polite, even let me leave the car in car park for the rest of the day after I had checked out. Bit of noise from trains & planes, but that's not hotels fault.

I have taken on Richmond inn as home away from home when I come to London. The place is magnificent. The staff is very friendly. Rooms are very elligent and cleaning. Prices are reasonable . The location is beautiful. High street is full of very nice restaurants. The Thames is a short walk away.. the train station is around 100 meters away. It takes the train 20 minutes to be in Waterloo station. ...I love this place ....

This hotel gave us a friendly welcome though unfortunately the lift was not working and had been out for several days. The staff were very good at helping us with our bags and the room was comfortable and clean. We had been upgraded to a suite which had the unusual feature of two bathrooms!
Car parking is available though the trip from car park to hotel is tortuous if you have a lot of bags as we did.
Breakfast was a bit disappointing for us. All in all the staff were helpful and friendly
Altogether I think it appeals to students and low budget travellers and is conveniently placed

Rooms absolutely lovely, spotlessly clean, couldn't fault it. On the flight path for Heathrow so some pretty low planes didn't make for a wonderful nights sleep, but the hotel can't be blamed for that. The breakfast was the big let down. Thin watery Orange juice, rubbery defrosted croissants, thin toasted processed bread, plastic rolls and processed ham. The chef's attempt at scrambled egg was pathetique hard and rubbery, not silky soft. I guess they probably buy the cheapest ingredients that could be found anywhere. Certainly nothing like a 4 star breakfast. Get the breakfast offering right and this review would have been totally different... probably 5 across the board! To the Manager/ Owner "What a shame, an extra £1.00 spend per head would make your hotel brilliant, not mediocre"
