Whilst staying in the area, I walked from the Meadows along the riverside path to Richmond Bridge.

It was a beautiful walk on a sunny day, albeit rather a 'busy' one, with walkers, runners and cyclists everywhere.

Lovely and beautiful area to go for a stroll in. Petersham doesn’t feel like London and in the Meadows you feel like you are in the countryside m.

Bliss!

Stroll along the river from Richmond bridge west towards Kingston and you'll arrive at Petersham Meadows - there are cows here and the scene is impossibly pastoral. So much so and you'll begin to doubt you're in London. Stroll through the field - gates at either end stop the cattle escaping - and you'll arrive in little Petersham which retains the feel of the sleepy village it used to be. Stop in to the pretty little church and explore its graveyard. Captain Vancouver is buried there, along with other minor luminaries. Or head for the renowned Petersham Nurseries and its excellent tea rooms.

This meadow is so beautiful with green grass and fat black and white cows. There were flowers everywhere in May.

Walk across Petersham Meadows where cows graze as they have done for hundreds of years. We were lucky to walk past St Peter’s Church when it was open for visitors. Apparently it only opens between April and September from 3-5pm. Very helpful guide and the old style box pews are well worth seeing. The church is also an unusual layout. Afterwards you can go into Richmond Park. Beautiful

Very pleasant walk from Richmond to Petersham, by the river and across the meadows with the belted galloways. Stopped at Petersham Nurseries, Definitly worth a stop, lovely cafe and plant related items. If I lived close by I would be a regular visitor.

On our way back to our hotel from a visit to Petersham Nursery’s we had to cross the meadows. Boots were a must as it was very muddy. Good views of the Thames as we crossed the meadows.

Great event on Saturday, Italian wine tasting. Very informative and relaxed. Six wines tasted over a couple of hours, well paced, great fun.

These water meadows provide a lovely view of the River Thames and they have cattle in from April to October. They also have a raised footpath now so you can keep your feet dry. If you walk across them continue through the gate at the upriver direction and along the footpath for maybe 100 yards until you can turn right along an access road to the garden centre which has an expensive cafe and restaurant (not a great garden centre these days). Continue on passed the garden centre along the footpath toward Petersham village. You can then head straight on towards Ham or take a right back to the river.

One of the best views of the river and the surround area is charming. Definitely the place to be to enjoy the river, the trees and meadow.
