Marvelous views from our hotel balcony of the lake and mountains .Our room was modern and comfortable . King Bed also comfortable.Staff were very efficient and the evening meal in the restaurant was excellent and reasonably priced..Walking on tracks near the hotel facing the lake are spectacular especially if you are a photo person and like nature as its in a peaceful location.We far preferred this location to wanaka because of its peace and quiet . There are also great scenic drives from this location .I would definately recomend this hotel and we will make a point to stay again next time we visit new zealand

We stayed recently at Lake Hawea hotel in a 2 bed apartment overnight. The hotel had a stunning view over the lake. The service was excellent and friendly. The restaurant served wonderful food. The only negative would be if they perhaps had a small table and chairs in the apartment as we had nowhere to sit at night. I would recommend this hotel.

While the hotel does have a great location which boasts some amazing scenery, i was a little disappointed with my recent visit. Over the week there were just a few small things which started to add up. The clerk at check in struggled with our booking and being able to tell us how much to pay. There was a strange smell coming from out bathroom from the minute we walked in. The cleaning service seemed a little substandard for a high rated hotel, as rubbish was left sitting in the bins for a few days, and most times when entering the restaurant/ reception help was scarce to find.
However i will give credit where it is due, and the overall appearance of the place was well presented, the beds were very comfy, the food at the in house restaurant was delicious and the views of the lake and mountains throughout the whole property were breathtaking. Definitely managed to unwind and relax in the peaceful little town.
