“lovely setting”
Reviewed 18 June 2014

Stayed here for one night . I have high standards I found the hotel to be a little dated quite old furniture but everything clean and useable. We ate in the restaurant the food was ok there are lovely views over the loch and the staff were friendly. For an overnight stay it served our purpose breakfast was good and we all slept well. The fan was very noisey and old in the bathroom but all in all It was ok.

Special deal break with upgrade to lochside room with balcony great view, both out and in as we were to experience when bus party arrived in afternoon during siesta time and poked their heads in thro fire door to view "oor wee hoose." English tour group for tea & scones . Lucky we were just on top of bed ,reading . New owners making some good changes to decor etc Good hearty breakfast but dinner not up to standard of last visit and menu would need changing if staying for more than two nights

Room Tip: Special deal break & paid extra for loch side view with balcony & worth it .

Dear alecwemyss,

Thank you for your review of your stay. We are delighted that you enjoyed your stay and can only apologise for the intrusion that you received from the coach party walking in our garden. We always welcome feedback and I would be delighted if you would contact me with regards to your suggestions for our menu.

The bed in the hotel is the most comfy I have ever slept in.

Breakfast was superb. Who knew haggis was so good!

Packed lunch was a bit awful, with white bread and square chicken, but great that it was an option.

I would definitely stay again.

Dear Gizzie121,

Thank you for your review. It pleases us that you found our beds so comfortable, it is an essential part of a stay as is breakfast. I am of course disappointed that the packed lunch was not to your taste and maybe we can look to create some different sandwich options moving forward. We shall hope to welcome you back.

Kind Regards,

Four of us stopped in unannounced while waiting for the Glencoe Visitor Centre to open. The owner was most accommodating and after a short wait we were seated for breakfast. The waitress was just coming off a very busy breakfast for the hotel guests but it never bothered her and she was equally friendly and helpful. The breakfast was absolutely one of the best I've eaten in some time and everything was freshly cooked. Wil make a point of staying here when next in the area.

We stopped in here after a but of hiking, and found a beautiful view waiting for us.
They had just closed the kitchen at 3, but they kindly sat us anyway and served us lunch.
I had the fish and chips, my friend just had chips. Cider selection was all encompassing and unique. Very delicious!
Gorgeous view, and a perfect escape from the rain! Friendly staff who were attentive and conversational.

We really enjoyed our two days at this hotel. The owners and staff made us feel welcome and the food was very good. What made the stay outstanding, though, was the hotel's setting. The views were fabulous. We booked a superior room with a loch and mountain view: well worth the few pounds extra.
The proprietors acquired the hotel less than a year ago and they have an ongoing programme of refurbishment whilst, at the same time, accommodating guests. This work did not detract from the enjoyment of our stay but it does mean that some of the rooms would benefit from a make over. However, I feel sure that the dedication and enthusiasm of the owners will soon earn the hotel top marks!

Room Tip: Worth paying the little extra for a superior loch and mountain view room.

The staff are lovely, friendly and helpful. We had a room overlooking the Loch and mountains, the view was perfect.. The overall experience was very good and we would certainly go there again.

Weather permitting, a drink outside on the verandah near the bar is a very pleasant way to relax.

The evening meals are well cooked, though there is not a lot of choice and there didn't seem to be variation in the menu from one night to the next. The full Scottish breakfasts are amazing - you won't need any lunch that day !

Dear Ron T,

Thank you for your review. With summer truly upon us the terrace is most definitely an asset, it becomes quite a sun trap and a great place to relax. We are delighted that you would choose to come back and visit us. With regards to the menu, we are of course disappointed to note that the choice was somewhat limited for you. Our current menu has 14 starter choices and 14 main courses to choose from which given the size of our operation is relatively large. We do also when possible run specials in addition. We would of course love to be able to have an even more diverse menu though sadly I fear that it would be unsustainable. We do of course welcome all feedback and suggestion and so if there were items on the menu that you feel were lacking, please do not hesitate to contact me so that we can discuss.

Kind Regards,

Craig Innes
