“Cosy and well appointed - the perfect base for touring around this beautiful area”
Reviewed 24 July 2016 for a stay in July 2016

Roe Deer Cottage was everything we were looking for during our one week self catering holiday in the Ballachulish area of Scotland. Spotlessly clean, fresh and modern throughout and with a cosy feel from the minute we stepped through the front door. Beautiful views from the front and back of the house. The cottage was well appointed and our daughters enjoyed sharing the good-sized, pretty twin room with ensuite. Peaceful spot, within easy walking distance of a couple of excellent eateries nearby. Basing ourselves in North Ballachulish gave us plenty of options for touring around the area, exploring lochs, glens and hills. All in all a great holiday in great accommodation!

“Excellent week in lovely accommodation.”

Roe Deer Cottage is the perfect base for exploring Glen Coe and the surrounding area. This comfortable, warm cottage has everything you need to make your stay as relaxing as possible. The handy drying room was used a little more than we would have liked, but did mean we were ready to go again the next day!
There was a very warm welcome from Elaine and family and they were also very helpful when we needed to have a package delivered!
If you want to break up the walking with something a little different, the we can highly recommend the Wildlife Island Tour with SeaXplorer and the Ice Climbing Taster Session at The Ice Factor was great fun (even in the summer!).

“An immaculate well equipped cottage in a stunning location.”
Reviewed 30 May 2016 for a stay in May 2016

Just returned from a week of wonderful weather & a great holiday in May. The cottage is beautifully done, very well equipped and spotless. Everything is supplied from kitchen equipment and supplies, to luxurious bedding & towels, hair driers and lovely toiletries, you really don't need to bring anything apart from clothes & food. There are also lots of other extra lovely touches including milk, tea , coffee, wine and a lovely little basket of delicious biscuits and chocolate . There is plenty of outside space with seating & table, washing line & parking. The very friendly owners live next door & nothing is too much trouble.
The cottage is also in a great location , views of the mountains and we can recommend the Loch Leven seafood restaurant & shop for delicious food. We had a superb week walking and cycling & never had to wear a waterproof once!
We will be back next year for sure.

“Absolutely Perfect!”
Reviewed 8 January 2016 for a stay in January 2016

We stayed at Roe Deer Cottage for 2 nights and could not have loved it more. Initially we had only booked for one night but decided to try and have an extra night, one day earlier, and we were very happy when Elaine contacted us so quickly to let us know that this was possible. On our arrival the cottage was lit, warm, cosy and with a tray set out of tea/coffee and biscuits to welcome us. The cottage itself is just lovely and with such attention to detail that we fell in love with it immediately. Everything you could need for your stay is here. Beautiful soap products, fluffy towels, comfy beds and many other extras are included. Our only disappointment was that we could not stay for longer. If we are ever back in Ballachulish we would HAVE to have this lovely cottage again. So highly recommended - staying here will not disappoint!!

“Fantastic”
Reviewed 12 September 2015 for a stay in September 2015

Stayed at Roe Deer Cottage for a week in September. The cottage is beautifully presented and the best equipped we have stayed in. The friendly, helpful hosts have thought of everything, including a bottle of wine.

Cottage is all on the flat, has a ramp and would be ideal for older or less mobile guests. There is a short walk down to Loch Leven. It is handy to Fort William, Kinlochleven, Glencoe Village and the wonderful walking tracks around Glencoe. It is also less than a one hour drive to Oban where we caught the ferry for a visit to Mull and Iona.

Had beautiful weather while we were there and were very reluctant to leave. Highly recommend this property.
