Roe Deer Cottage is set in the village of North Ballachulish, a five minute walk from a couple of lochs and just a few miles from Glencoe - the scenery in this part of the highlands is just breath-taking.
The cottage is spacious, beautifully furnished and spotlessly clean with lots of thoughtful touches from our host, Elaine. Definitely one of the very best cottages we've ever stayed in, highly recommended.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Roe Deer cottage , it is one of the best B&B we have stayed in on our 6 week journey in the UK.
The scenery is just stunning, the cottage lovely, spotlessly clean and very comfortable.
Elaine made us feel very welcome and we really enjoyed all the thoughtful touches with local products which ranged from soaps to yummy shortbread biscuits.
Millie the little cat visits each day for a pat and the Scottish sheep came to say hi most days who were in the neighboring paddock, we were sad to leave.
The cottage is in an ideal location surrounded by plenty of walks, nature reserves and ferries for travelling further a field. It was our first visit to Scotland and the details provided for local attractions was very much appreciated, along with the personalised welcome with hamper this cottage went above and beyond expectations.
We would definately recommed this cottage to anyone visiting Scotland and will be looking to visit again in the not too distant future.
What a beautiful cottage Roe Deer is, the standard of finish and attention to detail is absolutely amazing, nobody could fail to be impressed. The location is perfect for discovering the beauty of Glencoe and the Highlands, and a trip on the Jacobite Steam Train from Fort William affords some absolutely stunning views of the scenery on the trip to the very pretty fishing village of Mallaig. Thank you, Elaine, for making us so welcome, your cottage is a credit to you.
Can’t recommend this amazing cottage highly enough. Just had a fantastic week staying there for the third time. Immaculately clean and so many special little touches, chocolates, local biscuits, toys and balloons in my daughter’s room, amazing Highland Soaps soap, shower gels, shampoos etc. Everything you would think of and extras other people wouldn’t were included. Gorgeous view of mountains, new baby lambs out the window and even a visit to the front garden from a white horse!
Every little detail was taken care of during our stay. Elaine, the hostess, had provided tea, biscuits and even Easter eggs for our kids! We had lots of information about walks in the area and the cottage was equipped with everything needed for cooking. THere is a beautiful view out the windows. It's ideally located near Glencoe and about 20 minutes to Fort William. I would absolutely come here again and stay longer. We were here for only 3 short days. The decor of the house is beautiful as well with lovely local soaps, cute placemats, beautiful picture on the wall. If i was going to design my own holiday home, this is what I'd want it to look like!
