“A gem of a find !”
Reviewed 17 July 2014

Having spotted the advert on a school notice board I got in touch and am I glad I did. This cosy b&b, in a converted farmhouse, is a gem of a find. It is located in a beautiful and peaceful area which is well placed for excursions and trips in all directions - Ferrara, Ravenna, Verona, Padua Venice and beautiful hill towns. The welcome is warm, the accommodation is very comfortable and the breakfasts are a daily joy. You can book a dinner with Karen, a couple of nights per week and her food is delicious, special and memorable.Whether eating in the house or at one of the local restaurants we dined well and enjoyed delicious wines. Tony and Karen are great hosts and nothing is too much trouble. They will go out of their way to meet special dietary requirements. We cannot recommend it highly enough!

Room Tip: There are only 3 rooms that are let and they are all worth booking.

Just returned with all our family from Tony and Karen with another amazing stay! This is the only time we have re-visited a holiday destination and been so pleasantly surprised that it lived up to our previous visit.
If anything it surpassed our first visit and beyond our expectations. The welcome and the friendliness on our return and for our family was very special.
This time we had the experience of wine tasting lasting from early afternoon till late in the evening. All food and wine experiences included, truly amazing. A very enjoyable experience with star gazing in the garden at the end . To finish off a wonderful evening.
The food Karen prepared exceeded above and beyond our previous experiences. Truly a magnificent feast she prepared for us.
This is truly a perfect base for exploring this part of the country.
Tony's directions once again were invaluable for us and our family as we had 2 cars.
Our daughters were also pleased with the addition of WIFI.
We will certainly be returning again to such a warm and friendly welcome provided by Tony and Karen.

This is our second visit and would recommend it without hesitation. It is the perfect base to explore the surrounding area, Bologna, Venice, Verona, Lake Garda to name but a few! The accommodation is clean and comfortable. The breakfast sets you up for the day and Tony's directions are excellent and knowing where to park takes the stress out of visiting a foreign city.

Room Tip: All the rooms are good

We have stayed in many an upmarket B+B at home and abroad, and think it would be hard to beat Casa di Antonio. Karen and Tony do everything right, made us feel so welcome, the house is lovely, wonderful peaceful country setting yet Italian culture all around, rooms great and spotless, breakfasts special (different home-made jams and breads every day). Tony's directions make Satnav redundant, and prevent holiday fall-outs between navigator and driver. It's all great value as well! Their house wines are great too, and you won't find them in Waitrose! Please if reading this, don't book the dates we want next year!!

I have just returned from a superb week at Casa di Antonio. The directions supplied, both from and to the airport in Venice, as well as to local towns and villages, were excellent. Karen and Tony were terrific hosts, making us feeling welcome and included but not monopolising us. Nothing was too much trouble and I saw a side to Italy that I've not experienced before. Karen's twice-weekly four-course meal option is not to be missed! Thoroughly recommended (though probably not suitable for young children).

Room Tip: All rooms are equally good, with spacious bathrooms.

Just returned from a wonderful stay at this excellent B&B in the heart of the Ferrara countryside just outside the village of Ambrogio. For true peace and quiet within easy reach of all the main sight seeing attractions, together with easy access to the beaches. Our hosts went out of their way with Tony's superb directions to anywhere you wanted to visit together with helpful in depth local knowledge of the area. Karen is a superb cook using all locally sourced ingredients for some truly sumptuous Italian food. Their attention to detail was second to none. They really made you feel at home from the moment you arrived treating you as friends not just paying guests. I would recommend this stay for a truly wonderful relaxing holiday and excellent value for money. With thanks to our hosts once again. Not to mention the wine and prosecco!

We got the details of Casa di Antonio via Rotary and looked at their website, which is very attractively presented and easy to use. We booked a week, easily and efficiently done and arrived on Tuesday, 25th June after following Tony's excellent directions from Bologna airport in our hire car. The welcome was warm, genuine and friendly and the tone was set for an excellent week in all respects. The accommodation is superb and Karen's breakfasts with her lovely home made jams and breads were delicious as were the two evening meals she cooked for us. Apart from being the official `washer up', Tony has prepared a full and precise set of directions for every trip in the area, which took all the hassle out of our days out (we recommend Pomposa Abbey and Comacchio as particularly nice places to see). Details of all the local restaurants were also on hand so we were able to sample a good range of the local cuisine. Although the temptation is to take a trip every day, there is a lot to be said for a relaxing day in the lovely garden of the Casa, drinking a glass of wine, reading, dozing and chatting to the hosts.
We arrived as guests and feel that we left as friends and will certainly be going back.
`Grazie Mille', Karen and Tony, it was a perfect holiday. `Arrivederci a presto'
