My friend and I shared a twin bedded room in the house which was really lovely. Tastefully decorated, spacious, nice big bathroom, fluffy clean towels, lots of hot water. What's not to love? Breakfast was delicious. My husband stayed in one of the eco pods as he had to make a very early start the next morning and reported that he did not sleep well as the bed was small and not comfortable. I am going to give my rating below on my experience in the house but this would not apply to the eco pod.

Room Tip: Try to stay in the house if there is room...

Whilst walking The Chalklands Way we stayed in the "Pods" at Greenwick Farm whilst Fran transported us to and from the various parts of the walk. There is also a lift available to the local pub for evening meal. The "pods" are wood buildings in the farmyard. They are very clean, the beds comfortable and a super shower/toilet room. We were on a self catering basis with the food provided by Fran. They are very compact and the only downside is the lack of storage/hanging space for clothes.(there is a hook on the bathroom door)They are ideal for single night backpackers or anyone trying the walk The Chalklands Way where accommodation
is very limited.

We booked in here for 2 nights whilst walking the Wolds Way, and it turned out to be an inspired choice. Our route took us to Huggate village but this is some distance from the farm so we were collected by car and driven to the farm. This is an exemplar of what farm house accommodation should be like. To start off, the Proprietress was extremely welcoming and helpful, the house was beautifully appointed, and we were made to feel genuinely welcome. On both days we were there we were collected from our finishing point and driven back to the next day's starting point, and given truly excellent meals at breakfast and dinner. I recommend this place very strongly.

We spent three nights at this lovely Farmhouse and cannot fault the quality of the twin room we stayed in, and the facilities. Our hostess Fran was friendly and charming and could not do enough for us. The farm is well placed near the A166 which takes you directly into York, we made use of this using the Park and Ride. The garden and views around the house were outstanding and we would definitely come back again.
Thank you Fran for your hospitality.

We decided to stay here because the farm many years ago was owned by a relative. So 5 of us stayed here together. In the past the B&B has not been my thing. ( I like personal space and privacy. Don't need anyone to hold my hand all the time) However this property is so clean, nicely kept and the owner (Fran) is a nice lady, (hardworking and friendly), we would definitely stay again. Yes I have high expectations. The bed was the best as far as comfort. The room and bath (private) clean, nice. The breakfast Fran served was outstanding. The farm itself and surrounding area is beautiful, serene. Great for walks, biking, etc. We were here to retrace MIL's family; sort of genealogy reunion of sorts.

Room Tip: Our room had shower only. Room across the hall had tub. We had views of garden area.

Spent two nights here whilst working in the area. After a long hectic day photographing a wedding, the peace and beautiful location at Greenwick was a joy to return to. The garden is beautiful and the views across to the hills are amazing. Clean comfortable room with all the facilities and detail you would expect from a hotel. A warm welcome and great breakfast completed the experience perfectly. Beautiful, peaceful location but also well placed for exploring the area. Highly recommended.

At a beautiful house in a lovely location, Fran Pearson gave us a warm Yorkshire welcome. Our room and en-suite bath were spacious and comfortable, and breakfast was enough to take you through to supper. Fran's garden is well worth a wander and, wonder of wonders, she has a real live elm tree. Extremely peaceful on the top of the wolds, the only sounds are the swallows and martins and the work of the farm.
