“Delightful cosy cottage near Lewes.”
Reviewed 13 November 2017 for a stay in November 2017

The Escape is a comfortable, homely, self-contained cottage with its own private garden with lovely views over open farmland. The cottage was warm, well equipped and spotlessly clean. The bathroom has a great walk-in shower and the bed was extremely comfortable. Our host was very friendly and welcoming and had lots of helpful advice about the local area. We are keen walkers and there some wonderful walks on the South Downs and along the river Ouse close by. In addition to all that, there is a lovely old pub nearby that does very good food which is well worth checking out. We will definitely be staying there again and would thoroughly recommend it.

“Very convenient location in a delightful setting”
Reviewed 15 October 2017 for a stay in October 2017

A perfect, comfortable cottage for a couple, with everything needed for a delightful break (whatever the weather). Friendly, helpful owners on site, excellent pub next door, and bus stop near by if you fancy a change from driving. Would highly recommend this and hope we will be able to stay againg in the future.

“Wonderful Location”
Reviewed 24 September 2017 for a stay in September 2017

Home from home - great location for sightseeing; minutes from Lewes, Glyndebourne and a short drive to Seven Sisters and Sheffield Park.

Surrounded by wonderful countryside and walks - so there is so much to do and great if you have a dog.

I would have no hesitation in recommending this cottage (the hosts are warm and welcoming - we even had fresh rock cakes, butter and jam awaiting us on arrival!)

“Lovely cottage, useful location.”
Reviewed 18 September 2017 for a stay in September 2017

Lovely, warm friendly cottage - felt at home as soon as we arrived. Comfortable bed, bathroom, kitchen area etc. Lovely garden too and sitting out spaces. Nice to have the pub close by but also a nice place to stay in and cook supper.

A lovely place to stay. Beautifully presented throughout. Peaceful and private set in a beautiful garden. Homemade scones and jam on arrival were a real treat, after a long journey. A gold star to Joy and John. Will definately visit again !!

“Very comfortable stay”
Reviewed 1 March 2017 for a stay in February 2017

We had stayed at the adjoining property (The Getaway) in the past and were delighted to find that The Escape was free for the dates we required. The accommodation felt very private and even though we didn't use the log burner, it was very warm and cosy to come back to after walking in the lovely Sussex countryside. There was plenty of storage room and well placed shelving in the en suite bathroom which made life easy. As others have said, the home made scones and jam were a real treat and much appreciated! We particularly liked the relaxing green colour which had been used throughout and was in keeping with the delightful garden surrounding the property.
