“Course in great shape, Clubhouse being rebuilt expected to be done by Sept/Oct 2014”
Reviewed 12 May 2014

Course was in great shape, greens were demanding and took time to read, possible would slow down play, * min tee time intervals and took 4:15 mins to play. Clubhouse being rebuilt as it was burnt down, expected to be done by Sept or Oct 2014. Overall a nice course with some pretty views and holes. Worthwhile playing.

rewp,
Apologies for my late reply here, but thank you so much for taking the time to comment on your experience at Shannon Lake. Our clubhouse was destroyed by fire on May 11, 2013. Construction on the new building began on March 17, 2014. Your visit came early in the construction process, at a time when we were dealing with many challenges in and around our temporary facilities. You are one of many players that has noted the intricacies of our putting greens. Many of our Members and Guests use the phrase "optical confusion" from time to time when describing certain areas on the golf course where the mountain ranges influence how the golf ball rolls on our greens. We hope you will return to play again when we can really put our best foot forward in our new clubhouse!

“Very slow course”
Reviewed 6 October 2013

They overload the course with golfers (7 minute intervals) so it takes over 5 hours to play. About half of the course is absolutely beautiful the other half is average. There is no clubhouse just a construction trailer.

“Good pub grub in a upmarket venue”
Reviewed 18 September 2013

Slipped in here for lunch the other day, were planning on sitting outside, but the patio was booked out, but lovely and cool inside and the atmosphere was really nice. Relaxed, friendly staff were chatty and knowledgeable, plus they have some good local beers on tap if you're keen. Portions a little on the hefty side, but not just filled up with starch, we enjoyed the salmon and the ouse pizza, coupled with a couple of local beers and just kicked back and relaxed... The kind of place one can not feel rushed or pushed.. Recommended for that long lazy lunch or afternoon bevvie on the deck! The golf course looks really good too!

“Stunning Views and Great Golf”
Reviewed 2 September 2013

A magnificent test of golf. The course and greens are perfect and the staff is extra friendly and helpful. This is easily the prettiest course we have played in Canada. Although the club house burned down in May, so there is limited food available, it did not affect the great golf. Would play there again in a heartbeat, and would reccomend it to any golfer looking for a fun and entertaining day.

“A challenging course with lots of variety”
Reviewed 21 August 2013

This was our third time playing this course, returning for the variety, the terrain up and down
and dogleg, often challenging but enjoyable for average and good golfers.
