Came for day use; parked in a large parking lot. Here are over 100 camp sites but there was overflow in the parking lot. Water was clean and pleasant, however the beach we parked near was rocky, not sandy. As well, the water was shallow. Canadian Geese made their presents known on the beach and grass area. Sand was full of ants and many flying bugs around. Location was convenient to Kelowna and does ave flush toilets!

This park has clean and well maintained bathrooms and showers. No RV hook ups. Very close to Kelowna and shopping. Many great wineries around and the beach access to the beautiful lake Okanagan. Great camping place for families with young children. Playground and activities.

I just spent a week at Bear Creek Provincial park from Aug 23-30. We were on sites 88-89. We had quite a few problems while we were there. Firstly, when we booked the sites, no one informed us that there was a construction site directly behind us. They began work at promptly 7:15 every morning. We had a total of 6 children on the site ranging in age from 2-15. You could barely hear our family talking over the generator that ran all day, much less put a child down for a nap. We spoke to the girl at the front office who was polite enough but told us we couldn't move and the only refund we would get back was if we " came back after hours and stole it". Her exact words. This construction should have been disclosed when booking so we could have made decisions and either booked a site further away or booked elsewhere.
Beyond that the site was swarming with wasps. One adult was stung over the week and they were a constant nuisance. We began catching them in home made traps and caught approximately 200 wasps over 5 days. That is ridiculous but we felt we had nowhere else to go. Again, the office was of no help.
The site was generally well maintained and clean. The security staff that drove around at night was pleasant but these issues were glaring.
Overall our visit to your park was not enjoyable and made our visit to Kelowna unpleasant. They have a responsibility to inform people about issues like construction nearby and increased wasp population so people can make an informed decision.

We can't in good conscience recommend this site and we won't go there again

We have come to this campsite for the last several summers for a week or so at a time as family lives close by. The campsite has always been clean and well maintained. There is a roped off beach for swimming as well as a doggy beach area near the creek mouth that we prefer so that our dog can join us. Getting reservations for peak times is always a challenge so best to plan ahead, especially for the busy weekends. Kelowna is convenient, about 20 - 30 minutes drive away. The Westside road access can be a little narrow and windy for larger units, but we have no problems with our truck and trailer. Campsites are treed, and offer much more privacy than most private sites, but no hook up services are provided. Generators are allowed for limited hours during the day, which is nice as it keeps the noise down. Sites vary in size so make sure you look at how big your unit is when booking a site. One of our favorite places to camp in the Okanagan.
