“lakeside and almost luxury”
Reviewed 27 September 2011

This was a very pleasant suprise in Kelowna. We just spent a long weekend there. It's best feature is that it is directly lakeside (but not in a cove, rather on a bit of a point?) Be sure to get a lakeview room, the other side would look at a parking lot and the view to the lake is very nice in all directions. The rooms are large - all suites with bedroom(s), living room, dining area, washer/dryer, kitchen and dining room and medium to quite large decks. The 1 bedroom we had was very large. The rooms are well decorated and the king bed was very comfortable. Views of the lake from bed, deck, living room and kitchen. I believe the units all have owners but they seem to be in good repair despite that. It looks like a hotel, with consistent quality and design of decor, etc. The restaurant was good with a large deck by the pool and lake view. The pool area was very nice with 2 pools and 2 hot tubs. There was a small water slide that was actually really good. There is a small swimming beach and marina right on the property.
I only had small complaints. The service was not great although the staff were quite friendly. It looks like an upscale resort so one expects service to match. There is a grandish entrance but no one to help with bags. The housekeeping was quite poor - it seems they make the bed but that's it. No cleaning, no new towels (but they took away the ones we left on the floor), no dish cleaning. Our friend in another suite had asked for a number of extra wine glasses for a social event. The next day they left them dirty but grouped together on the counter - they were completely ignored by housekeeping - not cleaned and not removed. The room was not cleaned either after the event (it wasn't bad as they had done most of the clean up).
The only othe rthing woudl be the small bathrooms. They did not match the size or luxury of th rest of the place. Only a basic tub, no separate shower and rather bland decor.
However, I would stay here again for sure and recommend it highly. Mabe the service was an anomoly. Anything we asked for was done well.
The hotel is very close to several wineries and golf courses. We never went more than 5 - 10 min drive away for four days as everything you might want is close by. Did I mention the lake?

Room Tip: get a lakeside room

Resort itself was great. Very clean and well kept.

Rooms were large with great amenities

The resort is in a beautiful location and is very scenic but it is quiet far from the airport and far from other things as well (liqour store) so unless you drove be prepared to take taxi's to many places because it isn't walking distance to a lot

Good food as well

Business centre was through 3rd party so had to pay for it extra

Lakeside is the key word. This resort is excellent for couples and families alike. You are right on the lake and marina. Indoor/ outdoor restaurant with excellent chef, overlook two swimming pools surrounded by eye pleasing landscaping and guest BBQ's. Rooms are spacious and modern. Staff are very helpful and accommodating. Will definitely stay here again as it is very close drive to wineries, restaurants, etc. Request a lake view if they are available. Mountain view is fine but not as picturesque.

Room Tip: Ask for Lake view which also overlooks swimming pools. Mountain view is quieter

Love how the hotel is near amenities including grocery, etc. Pool area very clean; very glad they replaced the broken lounge chairs. Food too expensive for families which this hotel is very good for. Suites--neat and clean although the carpets could be cleaner. Kitchen is satisfactorily equipped. Could use a juice jug and more pots and pans. No whisk; had to use my own. Staff are very friendly; would stay again and they were generous to upgrade us to a 2 bedroom! Yay!

The hotel is beautiful but we will never go there again.....we went down to rent a boat from their dock and were witness to the most vulgar language we had ever heard. the owners of the boat rental were degrading a young man with very vulgar language! Firstly it was appartently embarrassing to the young man and second and most important it was very low class to do this infront of guests. I cannot think of a place where this would be accepted especially at a 5 star resort........I and anyone I talk to will never go to the Cove again. Sorry all that work to make this resort to rate was ruined with some nasty, nasty profanity!!!!!

Beautiful location and nice property. Unfortunately our trip was marred by the poor staff and service. First, they would not accept our on line booking, even though we had a confirmation and had paid for our stay in full. They made us pay it again. We have been forced to lodge a dispute with our credit company to get our money back. We also did not know prior to booking that this is a strata property as well as a hotel. They allow pets, and not just small pets. We aren't allergic to pets, but a fellow in front of us was having a hard time with his allergy to cat hair, and the staff was unsympathetic. The carpets are badly stained and filthy. You want to watch where you step. Spider webs growing in the rooms. Again, the staff couldn't care less. This one is off our list.

We stayed as a family in this resort, utilizing a 2 bdrm w/ kitchen suite. The rooms were well appointed, the kitchen was spacious, and the sitting area complete with a fire-place was very nice & relaxing. We also ate at the restaurant which was nice, used the outdoor hot-tub, and worked out at the gym. While the location of The Cove is a bit outside of Westbank/Kelowna, it is quiet and relaxing ~ which I felt was worth it! Highly recommended!
