Description: Overlooking rows of Pinot Noir & Chardonnay set against the Okanagan Lake, our outdoor Terrace Restaurant complements our wine's natural affinities with cuisine that is locally, sustainably, and seasonally sourced. By growing much of our own produce in the estate Varietal Garden and working hand-in-hand with local farmers, we are able to provide a spectacular culinary experience highlighting the bountiful ingredients & world-class wines that characterize this region. By partnering with local farmers, our menu continuously evolves to incorporate the freshest ingredients. Similar to our philosophy in the vineyards, we have a firm belief in sustainable and bio-dynamic agricultural practices, including local foraging, organic farming, and the Vancouver Aquarium's OceanWise program. Even our own honeybees help sustain the estate gardens while providing wildflower honey to be used by our culinary team.

Had a fantastic late afternoon lunch here today. Food was excellent and the view is perfect. The entire estate is immaculate. The entire winery has a customer service model I find slightly cloying - everyone has that super happy, friendliness that begins to feel a bit disingenuous after the fifth or sixth person. But, having said that, I'd much prefer the attention and friendliness to the customer service we've experienced elsewhere; and I don't want it to sound too negative because we did have a great visit!

August, three years ago my wife, daughter and I lucked into a table at sunset, without a reservation. The view from the Terrace was excellent, the menu great. The atmosphere was surreal. I had the five courses with wine pairing. We eat out a lot. I have not had a better meal since. Clearly Mission Hills' location and dinner is not to be missed if you are traveling through the Okanagan this summer! But reserve well in advance.

We live in the Okanagan and have had meals at quite a few of the restaurants at the wineries.I was very excited to eat there as it was one of the wineries we have not experienced. We were very disappointed in the food. It is common knowledge that wineries are more expensive for what you get but you pay for the ambience and it should be special. We had a starter which I didn't find appetizing at all, the bread before hand was two little pieces with two bread sticks that tasted old. The best thing was the butter. The wine per glass was a bit crazy. My main meal was chicken that was really good, but a very small portion, my husband had the Salmon which had no taste and I would be embarrassed to serve that to my guests. We left there and my husband was still hungry after we paid over $ 70 for a lunch. There's better restaurants at wineries out there with better value for money. I do think it is a beautiful winery but their restaurant is nothing special. The service was good overall.

The location and ambiance were perfection.
This gem is perched on an ancient volcano that overlooks glistening Okanagan Lake, peaceful vineyards and is anchored by beautiful Mission Hills Winery. The pillars of the loggia created a wonderful sense of intimacy between each table. The early June evening was warm and the air was still. We were fortunate the weather cooperated with our plans so we did not need our jackets, although there are heaters above each table if required. Tip: plan accordingly as this is an on open air seasonal restaurant. Heavy emphasis on fair weather only. Apparently the curtains get pulled down to cut wind and rain, as comfort trumps views. Reschedule if it is rainy, windy or cold.

The food was perfection.
The amuse-bouche of warmed cherries was a delight. Our party of four shared an order of Angus Carpaccio and Chardonnay Vine Smoked Arbequina Olives. An offering of two breads with wonderful herbed butter kept us entertained before our entrees arrived. Three of us ordered the Peace Country Lamb Loin and one of us ordered the Steak & Hand Cut Frites. A delightful mignardise was delivered as we anticipated four forks and an order of Red Velvet Cake. Every bite of the meal was delicious. The plating was a pleasure to the eye with great attention to the many artistic edible details. Portion sizes were decent and we all remarked how pleasant it was to leave a restaurant feeling comfortably satiated.

The wines were perfection.
One of us started with a glass of 2011 Reserve Pinot Gris. We shared a bottle of 2011 Reserve Cab Sauv and a bottle of 2011 Select Lot Collection Merlot. All wonderful.

The service was perfection.
The wait staff were attentive without being cloying. Our server was knowledgeable about the menu and the venue. Friendly and warm service. And there were plenty of staff to clear empty plates away and keep glasses full at an unhurried pace as we savoured our meal.

While attending a convention in Kelowna, someone told us about Mission Hill winery and how it was worth the visit. So having a few hours we headed on over and were blown away by the entire package of scenery, architecture and landscaping.....and we decided to make reservations with friends at the Terrace restaurant. Came back later for supper with our friends and they too were overwhelmed by the location.
As for the restaurant, everyone was super friendly, we were seated at a table overlooking the lake and our waiter was extremely friendly and knowledgeable and described the entire menu to s. You could literally taste all the ingredients as he described it. The food was delicious, both to the palate and to the eyes, and the service impeccable and courteous. Menu has some unique and creative flavours starting with a complimentary appetizer of marinated dried cherries through to a dessert of thyme infused raspberry sorbet. Although the restaurant is outside, it is somewhat protected from wind by screens and overhead infrared heaters. We did notice a cooling as the sun set, but that was part of the attraction of the location. Can't wait to get back to Kelowna!
