My husband and I have just returned from this hotel and are disappointed, especially after reading previous reviews. Although clean and kept clean by the staff, the rooms need upgrading. I like the idea of carpetted corridors as this cuts down the noise, but not in the bedroom. I am glad I took slippers as the carpets left a lot to be desired. Also the bathroom tiles, sink and lighting needed an upgrade. Some of the furniture had lost it's veneer and marks were plainly seen. The staff are friendly and helpful, but so they should be as the hotel is quite remote and at night, you are marooned. For anyone with walking difficulties, the only way out is by hiring a car. The local bus runs west to Coral Bay, small resort with 1 street of bars, cafes and shops. Going the other way, you can go into Paphos, but the buses stop at 18.30. It is difficult to walk to Paphos from the hotel, as they have not yet finished the pavements and you are basically walking on the main road.We tried to walk along the coast, but the path stops and starts and at some points, you are climbing across rocks. Hotel is very expensive, as is the rest of Cyprus. Prices on a par with London pubs. We have been going on Thomson holidays for the past 15 years, sometimes 2 or 3 times a year and have stayed in much superior hotels with a 3T rating. Perhaps Thomsons should use another method when awarding the 'T' rating. To upgrade to a 'drinks package' is 17euros per person per day and for 'all inclusive' is 22 euros per person per day. At today's exchange rate, that means each couple would be paying £44.00 each for all inclusive. Surely, no-one can eat and drink that amount over and above your half board deal that you booked. And you still have to pay for fridge, kettle and security safe. Most hotels I have been in, have a digital safe and you key in your own PIN no. At this hotel it is an old fashioned key with your room number on it, not very secure if lost or stolen. I think other people who wrote wonderful reviews have not experienced the wider world. Sorry, but that is my personal opinion.

We have sayed in Platinum hotels before through Thompson but not Gold so this was our first experience, and I have to say it was very good. The hotel was lovely with comfy rooms, but wouldn't necessarily pay for the upgrade as we did. The upgrade consisted of : bath robes/slippers, fruit and wine on arrival, tea and coffee making facilities, CD player, fridge. We used the slippers and the fridge which we put some soft drinks into to. If you want it stocking you have to pay even though All Inclusive!!!Not sure if you have to pay for fridge if not all inclusive. You still had to pay for the safe though. Room was supposed to have been refurbished, it was ok with a lovely view, but think standard rooms were similar.

Food was very good with an excellent choice. You would have to be very fussy to find nothing at all to suit. We didn't try Al a carte, but people who did said nothing to write home about! All the staff were very friendly and helpful.

Hotel does have sea view with a little 'beach' area and a large pool, with plenty of sun beds on terracing that goes down to the sea. We went in December so not very busy and you do get pool towels. Never went in pool as it wasn't heated - never actually saw anyone in it all week!! - but it was cleaned each day and looked lovely - pity they don't install solar power for heating purposes. Pool bar was still open during the day, but apart from that there was only the small bar just off the reception. As we were AI our drinks were included. Beer, spirits, coffee and quite a lot of cocktails were inlcuded in the price. Also bottles of wine.

A bus stop is outside the hotel to take you into Paphos which was about 2 euros each way. We found there was very little around the hotel, and no real shops or anything if you wanted a walk in the evening. There was a few small mini markets, and up a hill there was the village of Kisonegra, but that only seemed to have a bar and a small supermarket. We were glad we were AI as you are a bit of a captive audience in the evening and with the exchange rate not being that good would be very expensive with a large beer being 3 euros and a cocktail at 5 euros.

We did hire a car for a few days and what seemed like a good and cheap deal with Europcar in the hotel turned out to cost double as they charge you for fuel up front, rather than you having to top the car up before you return it. Think it may be cheaper to book in UK before going. Driving was easy as mostly well signposed and they drive on the same side as us. Island not as big as you think, so if you planned your trips, you could get away with only hiring car for a few days, week at most.

Overall I thought the hotel was great and would recommend it.

Researched this hotel well before booking, including reading the reviews on here, and despite the premium price for the holiday between Christmas and New Year plumped for this hotel primarily because of it's rating and because of Thomson's policy of not taking children there. Thomson are committed to 80% of this hotel, apparently, so knew there may well be a few kiddies around (there were) but took the risk and the ones we did see were no trouble whatsoever. The hotel is situated slightly up the coast from the centre of Paphos which wasn't too much of a problem - at least it was quiet and the views unterrupted. The bus service was convenient the couple of times we used it and so found the location suited us very well. The food, for mass buffet catering, was superb with an unexpected excellent choice and a salad/cold bar to die for. Presentation was also superb and the restaurant run exceptionally efficiently. We plumped for the All Inclusive deal which was definitely the wisest choice as we made best use of the pleasant bar to hammer the wide drinks selection, including the (too) delicious cocktails. Aside from being allocated a room that wasn't the 'superior' that we booked (Thomson's fault it turned out) the problem was quickly solved and we were moved to the room we should have had in the first place - the porter was actually on his way home and was told by the hotel to stay and moved our bags and despite our protestations that we were happy to move ourselves the young chap insisted that he be allowed to do it and it was completed with a smile. The cleanliness and facilities of the hotel is exceptional, as are all the staff. The position beside the sea is probably one of the best in the area with a small private beach and plenty of maintained grass areas for sunbeds. Despite being on of the youngest couples there we weren't overpowered by the grey-brigade so that was a plus. We also didn't particularly want to buddy up with other folk as we saw plenty doing but were able to make polite conversation with people without them expecting us to dine with them every evening! I don't have much to compare this hotel with as to date I've been more of an adventurer so hotels have been sparse and basic, but i'm not swayed by palatial gloss - for it's size this hotel is pretty darned good. Book it, I doubt you'll be disappointed.

Our first time visit to this hotel and definately not the last. Fantastic!

We have been to many Thomsons Golds and we definately thought that the food here was the best we've ever had.

The staff were excellent and full of humour. They couldnt do enough for you. Each evening at dinner you would be escorted by the arm to your table ( well i was) my husband had to follow behind (all in good fun!)

We had a superior room, well presented, clean and tidy. Nice size balcony with a lovely sea view.

A slight criticism though, the hotel beach wasn't up to much -small, rocky, boring, not alot of sand at all, infact you had to crawl out over the stones and rocks until you were able to float! One of the guests we chatted with said that he cut his foot badly on his first day whilst scrambling out for a swim! He ended up in the local hospital and limped for the rest of the hol! So take care. Sunloungers were positioned on a grassy bank nearby, so it's ok if your not a beachy person, very disappointing however if you are, so suggest you hire a car or prepare yourself to use the local bus to take you to next beaches along the coast - about a 10 minute journey in each direction. We hired a car and used the public transport on other days. The buses were regular and didn't have a problem with this.

The hotel was quite remote. This suited us, we enjoy quiet evenings. If you fancied a change from the norm then across the road from the hotel are 2 taverns - quiet, typically Greek, away from it all feeling! Nice!

Two supermarkets are a short walk away.

Excellent hotel, shame about the beach!

Booked our holiday with Thomsonson the web. Late honeymoon & retirement celebration.
From the moment we arrived, we could not have asked for better service - the hospitality, friendliness, and the kindness of the staff, without exception, were above expectations and without fault. Champagne was sent to our room, quite unexpectedly, which brought a tear to our eyes; attention to detail is the strength of this hotel. If there was one member of staff who stood out from the others it was Constantinos, a duty manager, and to him we say a very sincere thank you..
We upgraded to all inclusive & we hired a car for three days and explored a little, but mostly just enjoyed the relaxation.
The weather was excellent, the facilities superb, as was the food.
You can have as much or as little involvement with the Thomsons programme, which appeared to be good, with good staff. We chose to do our own thing.
Would I recommend it - undoubtedly!
Will we be going back - certainly!
Is there room for improvement - only at Paphos airport for the return journey home, where information is scant, and facilities are inadequate for the numbers passing through.

The Hotel is nice and yes the rooms need updating, they may have been 4* 5-10 yrs ago but not now. We enjoyed the beach it was private and just for our hotel more or less, there was plenty of sunbeds, Very nice on the whole.
It is out of the way but nice to relax and doesn't to have any where nice to walk.
We had one of the rooms with a small garden terrace rooms 510 to 518, the terrace had sunbeds on but we didn't use them as the garden was weed and when they watered it just mud, it would be better if they paved the area's.
We were a party of 3 in 1 room, we originally booked H/board but after 3 days we upgraded to All Inc, we did feel that guests that were not All Inc were treated differently, we have been on many hols and never felt like that before so yes we did feel like being pressured into upgrading. please be careful if you are 3 guests to one room we had no end of problems getting our drinks as the waiters are told only 2 drinks per order and we had to explain numerous times. NO 3 to a room. it carried on even after complaining and with the same waiters asking each time so it got really annoying, only 1 waiteress remebered our room number which was good thank you to her.
The food is good and plentyful we sat outside for our meals.
We hired a car for 6 days from the Hotel Eurocar, but really paid over the odds, about 100 Euro's more. we had a look round a few 4*/5* Hotels where friends had been
and found car prices much cheaper e.g Horizon Hire.
On the whole we did have a nice time.
Would we go back there, YES. Will we go back there NO, we don't tend to go back to same Hotel.
If anybody goes into one of these rooms can they feed the little white and ginger Kitten
Hi to anybody that reads this I'm sure you will know us.
