“Great day”

Fab cafe - great for a bike ride, a walk, run or meander - have been going for years and hope to keep going - parking onthe main areas is expensive but there's lots of free parking within the woods - the Christmas grotto is a must for all kids at heart !

“A family took a stroll through a deep, dark wood!!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 7 August 2014

This was our first visit to Delamere Forest. We went specifically for the Gruffalo Trail. I have to say that we had a wonderful few hours there. Easy enough to find and park up...£4 for 3 hours parking.

And then we were off...the trail is clearly signposted and not too long for those with little legs! I was pushing a buggy and got round perfectly. Around the trail there are activities for children to complete, for example matching the animals to their habitats. The characters from the story are nailed up high in trees and we had extra fun trying to locate them all
There is a large carved Gruffalo towards the end of the trail and opposite a picnic area.

The only slight downside is that we took a picnic (as many others did) however, there are no bins until the very end.

The weather dictated that we finished the trail at the cafe with an ice cream.

We took some fantastic pictures!

Even when the Gruffalo Trail is not there, we’ve vowed to return.

“A beautiful accessible open space”

I walk in the forest with the Nordic Walking group and through the leader I have discovered lots of wonderful areas. It's a terrific asset to live near to.

“Peaceful”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 July 2014

You can get out of the forest whtever you want. If it's adventure the hire a bike or segway or Go Ape. We prefer to walk with the dog he can go off lead for so much of the walk, we tend to go off the usual paths but make sure you take a map just in case. we have been walking in the forest for a good few years now and never find it has lost any of it's magic, it never fails ti impress no matter what time of year or day of the week. Go and enjoy and lets help keep the Forest open to all to enjoy.

“Lovely place with lots to offer”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 25 July 2014

This has lots to offer with different walks and things to do. We didn't hire bikes. If we went as a family we would have hired bikes and done the long cycle tracks. We got a little lost on the walks and some were a little overgrown but it was worth the day out.
