“Relaxing Rural France at its best.”
Reviewed 21 May 2017 for a stay in May 2017

We have just enjoyed an extremely relaxing holiday at Peartree Cottage in Les Cros. We were greeted very warmly by our hosts Mark and Chelle. The Gite was clean and well equipped and had an air of peaceful restoration. The life given to the old building was beautiful with an original tiled mosaic floor in the sitting room. A welcome food pack was a nice surprise. A secure and well maintained garden, pool and barbeque area offered a quiet and relaxing outdoor space.

A bird watchers haven to observe the nesting bluetits and swooping swallows drinking from the pool and a blackbird that sang strongly from the top of the walnut tree in the evening. With minimum light pollution the night sky star display was crystal clear for all to see and admire.

On request Mark was able to offer suggestions of local walks, attractions and shopping. A very relaxing holiday taking in natural france while having the comfort of a well appointed gite.

“Fantastic gite, with lovely owners!”
Reviewed 4 April 2017 for a stay in April 2017

We were looking for a holiday home and needed a base for a couple of days of viewings.

The owners were really accommodating, even putting up with us arriving at 5am!

It was a real treat to find a supplies package waiting for us, free range eggs that had travelled about 5 metres!

The Gite was impeccably presented, clean, and well equipped.

Don't hesitate to book this place!

Mark and Michelle were the perfect hostesses.
The property was in a lovely setting and in a lovely area, very peaceful.
It was lovely to have the pool and the surrounding area, all to ourselves!
A very relaxing experience.

“the perfect location and hosts”
Reviewed 19 August 2015 for a stay in August 2015

We recently had a wonderful week at Pear Cottage - Mark and Chelle were the perfect hosts, so welcoming and helpful - but beyond being the perfect host their Gite was excellent, comfortable, clean and ideal for our needs. Very comfortable beds and two excellent shower rooms - to be honest one of the best showers I have ever had, putting to shame some 5 star hotels!! The gite is in a small sleepy village - you really could not ask for a more quiet location. Opposite the gite is a private garden for the guests use which is bathed in sunshine all day, and where Mark and Chelle have built a lovely decked area where we spent many an hour enjoying the setting sun and having a glass of wine beside the swimming pool. We really could not fault our stay at Pear Cottage. Chelle provided some excellent home made pizzas which truly were magnificent and Mark was always available to give guidance on the local area and where to go. We had a wonderful time, an excellent stay, very well priced, a superb location, well equipped gite in a great location. It was everything we hoped for and more - thank you Mark and Chelle

“Relaxed and peaceful break - a great gite and friendly owners..”
Reviewed 19 June 2015 for a stay in June 2015

We stayed here for a week with our three young children June 2015. Mark and Michelle have an amazing place - a wonderfully finished gite set in the beautiful French countryside. The gite itself is a credit to Mark's handiwork and Michelle cooked us some homemade pizzas on our last day which were fab! All in all a very relaxing break and one that we would recommend to anyone. Tip: We were initially worried about the stairs leading to the twin room upstairs so we brought along our travel baby gate which the owners had no problems with us using! Meant we could sleep easy and the two eldest had a bed each upstairs. A cot in our room was also kindly provided. Great service! We will be back!

“Very restful stay”
Reviewed 13 May 2015 for a stay in May 2015

We are a French family who lives only two hundred kilometers from Michelle and Mark's cottage, but we had not visit this area yet. We were surprised with all that there is to visit. Very close to the village, we even visited a breeding of bison that we never saw before.
Michelle and Mark are very friendly and their cottage is tastefully refurbished. The garden is beautifully arranged and we enjoyed a lot the sunset at the bottom of it.
Michelle and Mark, thank you for your welcome and hope to see you again soon.
