Was looking for a place to have a simple lunch on a Sunday while visiting the area and decided to give this a try. We nearly left when we found out that there are no sandwiches and no specials on a Sunday and we didn't fancy the full Sunday roast.
However, the cafe was lovely, the sofas soft and the children in need of hot chocolate so we stayed and ordered 2 veg soups and a portion of chips to share for the adults and 1 portion of fish & chips for the children to share.
The big bowls of soups were really good, served with lovely sour dough bread and the perfect size for lunch. The children's fish & chips was excellent, served with what seemed like homemade tartare sauce and minted peas, and more than big enough for the two of them (5 & 9) so mum and dad could taste as well.
I think we paid about £20 for an excellent lunch and soft drinks for 4 people.
Nice touches are the loo flushing with rainwater, the interesting art on the walls, the sofa corner and the homemade ethos. Would definitely go back.
