My boyfriend and I stayed at Boat Farm B&B for 3 nights over New Year.

Prior to arrival I'd spoken with the owner, Barbara, a few times over email and she was extremely helpful, suggesting restaurants and pubs for our evening meals and even sent me sample menus and telephone numbers.

When we arrived Barbara came out to greet us and offered to help with our bags. She showed us to our room and then provided a pot of tea and cakes for us! This was such a lovely touch.

Our room and bathroom were both fantastic, spacious, spotlessly clean; everything looked brand new with really good quality fittings (under floor heating!). Lots of little extras like bottles of water everyday, lots of hangers in the wardrobe, a radio, cotton wool and spare toiletries, etc.

The breakfasts were fantastic and of excellent quality; nothing was too much trouble and there was lots of choice, the first day we didn’t need lunch! We ate in a lovely room (one of 2) with a telly and a wood burner where we could sit in the evening with a bottle of wine and the cakes Barbara left for us each day.

Bellingham itself wasn’t the best village we’ve visited but there are lots of surrounding areas to visit and it’s fine for a break away from the city.

Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and wish Barbara all the best!

Room Tip: We stayed in 'Rede' which had views over the garden and there was a bath and separate shower...

I stayed here recently with other friends aswell as they were taking part in the marathon. Barbara was a fantastic host and served us fresh coffee and tea and there is a constant supply of cakes!! The rooms are gorgeous and all decorated to a high standard, 2 lovely lounges to settle into in front of log burning stoves! Amazing place to relax! Thanks!

Having stayed here twice now I can easily say it is the best b&b I have ever stayed in.

Whether it's the fresh coffee and cake when you return from a walk, or the silver service breakfast or the perfect location; it is impossible to say anything negative about the place.

Barbara is a lovely host, nothing is too much trouble and she is a wonderful cook.

I look forward to many more visits!!!

We booked a weekend break in order to visit Kielder Water, and having never been to the area before, I found the accommodation via the Tourist Information before doing some research. We stayed one night in March.

Positives:
This is a beautifully renovated farmhouse in a lovely location overlooking the North Tyne River.
The rooms are spacious and every little extra touch had been considered in the amenities.
Wonderfully comfy bed, we slept for 11 hours straight!!
Two sitting rooms are provided with comfy furnishings, tea and coffee facilities, and lots of homemade cake.
Very friendly owner, who couldn't do more to make us feel welcome.
Excellent breakfast - scrambled eggs and smoked salmon are my favourite and I was delighted to find them on the menu, and then for them to be so delicious! A full English is also available.
Ideally located to visit Kielder and the surrounding countryside.

Negatives:
Absolutely none.

Overall:
This is a lovely farmhouse in a quiet and peaceful location. It is without a doubt, the best B and B I have ever stayed in. Barbara works hard to produce a relaxing and welcoming environment; we are already planning our return visit.

Beautifully renovated Northumbrian farmhouse in glorious countryside overlooking the River Tyne, an easy 15 minute walk from Bellingham village.

Just 3 tastefully decorated and well equipped rooms, but there are also 2 lounges with wood burners, tea and coffee making facilities (plus home made biscuits!) and squashy sofas to relax on after a day's walking or sightseeing.

Breakfast is excellent and substantial with fresh tasty produce and a choice of cooked food.

Barbara (the owner) is very welcoming as well as being a great cook, so this B&B is definitely worth going out of your way for. It would make an excellent base for exploring wonderful unspoilt Northumberland. Unreservedly recommended.

Boat Farm B and B is a fantastic place for a quiet retreat and is surrounded by beautiful countryside. It has recently been completely refurbished to a very high standard. Barbara who runs the business could not of been more welcoming and each morning we had a fantastic breakfast which included an assortment of lovely breads, homemade jams, fresh fruit and a hearty cooked breakfast. We look forward to returning.
The Boat Farm also has two barn conversions (one bed and two bed) which look lovely.

Room Tip: All of the rooms are lovely though the one that looks over the river has fantastic views.
