Stayed in Otter Cottage which is just part of the accommodation available at Boat Farm. I cannot fault anything about it. Spotlessly clean, equipped with every thing you could need for a self catering holiday and in a beautiful location next to the river. This is a true gem and lives up to all the praise others have given it. The owner, Barbara, is a genuinely delightful person and has certainly got it right here. Well Done! Would recommend to anyone wishing to explore this lovely area.

I stayed here with a friend for a night to do some walking around Keilder and Bellingham. On arrival Barbara met us with Coffee and Cake :-) The B and B was immaculate with lots of attention to detail. Beds were comfy with a lovely view of the river. This is somewhere i would definitely go again. The breakfast came with a variety of choice which in my experience far exceeded many hotels i have stayed in.

Room Tip: Any of the rooms are ideal.

We stayed for a week at the lovely boat farm in both otter cottage (s/c) and also both oak & rede rooms in Barbara's beautiful b&b. Couldn't fault anything! The cottage is beautifully appointed, spotlessly clean & lovely welcoming basket of local goodies. Both b&b rooms were similarly pristine, luxurious and the breakfast just perfect with great choice. Barbara is a wonderful host, unassumingly just getting on with ensuring everything is perfect. (The only reason we moved around between rooms was that we booked so late one room wasn't available for the whole week, but Barbara was totally unperturbed to move us around). We wouldn't think of staying anywhere else when we are in the area. Tops!

Stayed with friends whilst they were cycling Reivers route across country. A truly brilliant find! Located at the end of a single track next to the river it is idyllic but the b and b is itself like a home from home! Barbara was the perfect hostess and greeted our party with tea and cakes even though we arrived in dries and drabs even booked us a table at local Cheviot hotel for dinner. Village a pleasant walk away. The rooms are beautifully decorated and to a very high standard. Two lounges for guests are comfortable and fresh cakes are even supplied for when you return from the pub. No tv in room which is a real pleasant change as the views from the window are all the entertainment you will need. Would definitely recommend to everyone but perhaps shouldn't as there won't be any rooms left for our next visit.

Just over a year since visiting on a cycle trip we were passing this way again on 2 wheels. I didn't hesitate to book in for another night after the wonderful experience of before.

We weren't disappointed because Barbara offers such a wonderful stay with spaceous, spotless, well decorated rooms, a wonderful feast of a spread for breakfast and of course the tea and cakes when you arrive. I loved the view again outside our window of the Tyne river and the garden is a lovely spot to enjoy a tea. Secure storage in the barn for our bikes, wht more could we want.
I've now got to come up with another bike ride or reason to stay in the Bellingham area again !

Room Tip: We had the oak room which is wonderful !

My sister and I stayed here for a night when we cycled the Reiver's Route. The farm house and garden were idyllic and on arrival we were offered tea and cake in the garden overlooking the river which was lovely after a day cycling. The house is pristine and decorated to the highest standard in a very contemporary yet classic finish. Barbara was so welcoming and served one of the very best breakfasts I've ever had in a B and B - it included a wonderful range of croissants, pastries and breads, fresh fruits and creamy greek yoghurt, a huge selection of homemade jams and marmalade in addition to all the usual cooked options which were very good quality. If you want a beautiful quiet setting and also a luxurious room and a friendly host look no further than this B and B.

Easy to find if you follow Barbara's directions. Very peaceful, close to the river so quiet. Stayed in the Heron cottage. Extremely well equipped and very comfortable, the children thought it was a magical place, their parents stayed in the b&b and reported that was good with a delicious breakfast. A lovely area with table and chairs to enjoy a sundowner and even breakfast if the weather is right. No fishing this time as the water was too low such a shame, but would definitely go there again. Barbara is a great provider, a selection of coffee, home made cake on arrival, much appreciated.

Room Tip: Wifi in the main house, this is a holiday cottage and the farmhouse is a b&b.in Heron cottage th...
