“Lovely week”
Reviewed 20 March 2015 for a stay in March 2015

Our week at Reivers Rest has been a delight. The house is part of the converted stables of Hesleyside Hall and a lovely quiet location. In fact the only noise to be heard is from the guinea fowl outside in the grounds.

The house is clean, comfortable and well furnished. We had a tour of Hesleyside Hall with the owners William and Anna Charlton, for a small fee. The tour is fascinating and lovely to see the evidence of a family home as well as an historic property which has been in the same family since 1343.

Reivers Rest is in a beautiful location, close to Bellingham, Kielder and Hadrians Wall. A favourite walk was Hareshaw Linn in Bellingham.

Recommended highly for families and pet owners.

If you're looking for a romantic paradise with wonderful wildlife including a myriad of birds, red squirrels, roe deer and comedy domesticated guinea fowl all topped off with a dramatic landscape that let's you cycle in the woods, walk hills to waterfalls , great local pub food then Reivers Rest is the perfect spot for you. The accommodation is warm, welcoming and perfectly located. Loved it and will definitely be coming back.

“A cottage holiday with a difference, quality, tranquility on a country estate.”

A wonderful former coach house attatched to the splendid Hesleyside Hall the home of William and Anna Charlton with a family history dating back to 1130. Reivers Rest Cottage provides a mix of modern and traditional facilities with an elegant dining room providing ample space for entertaining up to six guests at candlelit dinners. Three large bedrooms equipped with super comfortable mattresses and high quality bedding. The kitchen area is well equipped and adjacent to the large dining/lounge area with flat screen TV. Our two dogs had a fantastic holiday and slept well in the kitchen area at night. Easy access to Northumberland and the Borders with local amenities in Bellingham village. Excellent eating establishments in close proximity, all of which offer excellent cuisine to suit every taste.
Many thanks to hosts William and Anna and houskeeper Susan for providing such a fascinating and enjoyable holiday experience.
