“Great base for a long weekend in Northumberland”
Reviewed 26 October 2015 for a stay in October 2015

We stayed at the Old Workshop for 3 nights while we enjoyed the sights of Northumberland. it is finished to a very high standard, warm and cosy and very good value for money. Bellingham is ideally situated to explore the region and The Old Workshop was the perfect base to do it from.

“Petite but perfect luxury accomodation in wonderful location”
Reviewed 11 October 2015 for a stay in October 2015

Right in centre of the lovely little town of Bellingham with parking at the front door. Good food shops for self catering. Owner lives next door and couldn't be more helpful.
Delightful lounge and integrated small kitchen area with everything you need. Comfortable lounge. Upstairs is the most elegant large bedroom with small ensuite. The king size bed is very comfortable with beautiful linen.
True 5 star accommodation. Will definitely return.

“Snug hideaway”
Reviewed 7 October 2015 for a stay in September 2015

Maxine, the owner , has made this the perfect little retreat for a couple. Snug, warm, cosy and very comfortable. Huge! Bed! The accommodation is small but perfect. And the welcome cake, milk and flowers were a lovely touch. She was able to recommend the best pub etc. The accommodation is situated right in the middle of Bellingham, and the local shops, pub and take away are all within a 5 minute walk, I cannot recommend this highly enough.

“Cosy and comfortable”
Reviewed 2 October 2015 for a stay in September 2015

We had a wonderful few days here at The Old Workshop. Good situation in Bellingham with easy access to the delights of the Northumberland countryside. The Old Workshop was clean, cosy and comfortable. We were welcomed with a vase of fresh flowers, a loaf of ginger cake and a pint of milk - very thoughtful.

“Lovely, comfortable and compact little cottage”
Reviewed 8 August 2015 for a stay in July 2015

We have just returned from a one week stay at The Old Workshop and must say that we had a fantastic holiday. The cottage itself is cosy and compact and is fitted out and furnished to a high standard. It is situated close to the centre of Bellingham so is convenient for all the amenities offered in this village but is also tucked away in the lower part of a square so is not noisy. Bellingham itself is a great base to explore Northumberland but is especially convenient for The Kielder Forest area and Hadrians Wall. We booked a Dark Skies experience at the Kielder Observatory and enjoyed this enormously. We also enjoyed many walks both local and further away. A trip to the area around Craster and Seahouses was a highlight and the area around Rothbury is also worth a visit. In Bellingham itself, we recommend Carriages Tea Room next to the Heritage Centre and The Cheviot Hotel for evening meals. We shall certainly return to the area and this little cottage in particular.

“Wonderful”
Reviewed 7 August 2015 for a stay in July 2015

Spent a lovely week in The Old Workshop. It's beautifully decorated and perfect for a couple.
The cottage is based in the centre of Bellingham, which offers everything (butcher, baker, grocer and of course the co-operative) if you fancy cooking your own meals.
If you feel like eating out I recommend The Cheviot Hotel, meals are great and reasonable priced.
From The Old Workshop you can visit various places, plenty of castles or if you fancy stretching your legs Kielder Forest is a good place to start, (includes bike tracks too).
We also visited Berwick Upon Tweed, Alnwick Castle (Harry Potter) and Hexham. Also on our trips we visited Jedburgh Abbey (just over the boarder in Scotland). Oh and we also stopped off at Hadrian's Wall on our way home.
