“Comfortable, well appointed chalet with excellent views in unspoilt valley with excellent skiing.”
Reviewed 29 April 2012 for a stay in April 2012

Ayer is an unspoilt Swiss village near to very good skiing in Zinal, Grimentz and St Luc.
On and off-piste skiing is excellent, without the crowds and expense of near-by Verbier.
Chalet Grouse is spacious, comfortable, well furnished and has great views and sun-facing balconies.
You need a car to make the most of the opportunities.
I thoroughly recommend this chalet to others.
AJ.

“Lovely Chalet in an old authentical village, good ski area”
Reviewed 8 January 2012 for a stay in January 2012

We were lucky to rent this lovely chalet, situated in Ayer (Ski area of Grimentz (nice!!), Zinal, St Luc at 10 min.drive). Greatly situated on the top of the village road, warmly nested between the Christmas Trees covered by snow.

Modern & very comfortable decoration with an English touch. All that needs to make ones feels "at home".

it's a great value/money deal. 3 bedrooms + 3 bathrooms

Mister Montheit, the owner, has been very kind and helpful in planning the stay and provided full details from the area facilities.

“Magnificent Chalet - great vacation - wonderful views”
Reviewed 9 August 2011 for a stay in July 2011

We stayed in Chalet Grouse in July 2011 for summer vacation. The Chalet is magnificent and 100% per cent recommendable!
Spacious comfortable living room, big adjacent kitchen and dining area, big & sunny balcony with spacious table in the sunshine for eating outside.
Downstairs the sleeping rooms with a directly accesible bathroom for each sleeping room and laundry machine. Direct access from our sleeping room to the outside if you want to step outside. Big (but steep) property in front of the chalet, so we felt well secluded from other direct neighbours.

Very well-equipped house (kitchen utensils, TV with big flat screen, DVD collection etc.!), floor heating for the few cool days that we had in July and very nice furniture where you can feel wonderfully at home.

The chalet is located a bit above the village of Ayer (good road, good parking directly next to the chalet) right in the middle of Val d'Anniviers. The valley offers in summer a broad variety of walking / hiking possibilities that last for much more than one stay. In winter Val d'Anniviers must be magnificent as well (obviously there are ski possibilities in various villages - we cannot judge on that as we have never been skiing but must be very nice). The location of the chalet is very quiet (next to the forrest) and offers great views and is very sunny.

The village of Ayer is a calm Wallis village in the old traditional style. Stores in Zinal, St. Luc and Grimentz available to buy all food items that can be needed over the stay. Ayer is ideally located in the center of the valley offering quick access to all hiking regions (directly around the chalet / around Ayer and if you like to use télépherique / cable car St. Luc, Grimentz and Zinal).

The owner was very helpful and friendly asking whether everything was in place that we might need which was the case. We felt very much at home.

We liked our stay a lot and would return any time possible! Highly recommendable!

“awesome chalet with spectacular views”
Reviewed 26 June 2011 for a stay in June 2011

on arrival the kids were first through the door and they were jumping up and down because of the size of the chalet and the views .the web pages do not in any way do this chalet justice.the fit and finish of the place has to be seen ,no expense seems to have been spared and i should know ( ex joiner). all rooms have really powerful showers .
the living room is huge and the kitchen is great with a large fridge (the ice cube maker needs to be seen) the underfloor heating pleased the wife and must be welcome in winter.
the large patio was great for eating breakfast at with views of the snow line .the nearest supermarket is about 10 mins away by car down the hill where there is also a great bakers shop. there is good walking right from the door and the slopes i would imagine are great for the skiers in winter . all in all a fabulous place.
