A 5 night stay at the Hilton Moorea was recommended by our travel agent to break up our long travel from Toronto to Melbourne. EXCELLENT choice!

The overwater bungalow was fantastic. The fully booked hotel felt like only 20% full. The snorkeling among the bungalows was excellent.

The included breakfast buffet was extensive and excellent. The lunch/dinner dining was very good. Although the over water Crepe Bar-Restaurant was ok.

We did do one excursion, the Mako Blue Lagoon Tour presented by Hiro. Whether you arrange this at the ferry dock or at the hotel, we highly recommend it.

We also use the hotels concierge service to rent a pair of bicycle to ride around the island. We only rode the “sunny” side of the island and did 60kms (FYI the ride around the island is 63km). However, I recommended to Hilton concierge that if Hilton recommends a vendor for bicycles, then the bicycle better be functional and have size options. Let’s just say these bikes were crap.

All in all, a great 5 night travel break.

Ia Orana dear KahRah01,

First, we would like to thank you, my team and I, for taking the time to share with us this review on Tripadvisor,
We are glad to read that you enjoyed your 5 nigths stay at the Resort, and that we were able to offer you as well some time to relax: which should never be underestimated!
We appreciate that you liked your “fantastic” Ovewater bungalow where you’ve done “excellent” snorkeling trip among the bungalows.
I have noted that you’ve done 60 kms around the island by bicycles! As you said Moorea island area it's 37 miles!! Congratulations for that!
We hope to have the pleasure to welcome you back for another “wonderful break” at the Hotel Hilton Moorea Resort & Spa.
Sunny Regards,

Stayed here for 5 nights in a premium panoramic overwater bungalow. The hotel was fully booked when we arrived however it never looked or felt busy. We ate at all the restaurants including the Wednesday night buffet and show. I would definitely recommend this experience as it was delicious and entertaining. The breakfast buffet every morning was included and was magnificent! Water toys were always available for use and were free.

One of the great perks was the mini bar which was filled daily, it included waters, sodas and beers. Such a nice gesture as we stayed at the Manava for two days prior and did not receive this.

As this was our honeymoon the hotel also set a bottle of champagne to our room upon our arrival! What an experience we had here and we cannot wait to come back here and enjoy the Tahitian hospitality again.

My wife and I stayed at the Hilton Moorea for 7 nights for our honeymoon in October.

We chose to stay in a Garden Bungalow for the first 4 nights, followed by 3 nights in an Overwater Bungalow.

I cannot fault the hotel in any way. The staff were the most friendly and helpful staff I have ever come across. Always willing to help and genuinely interested in ensuring that our stay was the best it could be.

The facilities were kept in excellent condition and the housekeeping was very good. The complementary mini bar service kept us well hydrated through the day.

The food across the Creperia, Restaurant and Bar & Grill were amazing. We did not venture outside the hotel for food as we did not need to! Watching sharks while eating crepes was definately a highlight! We also attended both buffets which were fantastic with a wide variety of food from across the world, including local cuisine. We also had a romantic candlelight dinner on the beach which I would definately recommend to all.

The hotel also arranged for our excursions around the island. We did a full day lagoon tour which included whale watching, swimming with sharks and rays, bbq lunch on a small island and watching some local traditions such as cocunut cutting and tuna cooking.

Overall, the honeymoon was perfect in the Hilton Moorea and would recommend this hotel to all visitors intending on holidaying in Tahiti!

family of four -booked two OTWB-

hilton honors gold

PROS

-The OTWB are really nice and the views are incredible.Just writing this review makes me want to go back and sit on my balcony and watch the fish swim by.

-expectations of the feeling of staying in an OTWB were met.Striking clear blue water, ocean and mountain views, reefs below and around us with surprising amount and variety of fish.

-Black tip reef sharks swimming by on occasion.Saw one stingray.several puffer fish..

-complimentary stocked mini bar-hinano,cokes/diet coke, perrier, and drinking water.

-champagne and special Tahiti water complimentary for both rooms

-easy check in with flower lei, fruit drink and cold towel

-luggage taken to our rooms at check in and luggage taken and stored after late check out.

-staff were overall friendly

-breakfast buffet included in price was pretty good with omelete station that offered egg whites, oatmeal was available, fresh fish, lots of fruit and bread.we had ocean view seating.

-coffee pods -#4 were complimentary and good

-paddleboards available for free-i saw 6 boards with leashes.boards were decent.

-kayaks and snorkel gear available for free

-nice pool but not too big.

-sharks gather nightly around the waters of the crepe bar which sits over the water.

-24 hour access to gym which is across the street.some machines, treadmill, free weights.towels/cold water available.showers available as well.

- pool closes at six but we saw people swimming at all hours.

-nice showers with rain type shower head and great water pressure.

-after multiple requests we were granted late check out-1pm vs 11 am.

-changing rooms available but only for 30 minutes on check out day-but do not forget gym has showers and towels too.

-lilikoi cafe is a 5 minute walk for a pleasant and relatively cheaper lunch,

CONS

-Even though hotel is very nice it seems to lack that cozy Tahitian/polynesian feel that the Intercontinental La Moana had.The Hilton Moorea felt a little sterile.

-we wanted to call for pizza one night to be delivered but front desk refused to cll for us saying that we must make the call ourselves.

-turn down service was lame-did not replenish towels or leave candies like at the Intercontinental La Moana.

-they make you wear a giant bulky life jacket to paddleboard in 4 feet of water. Most people take it off because it feels and looks ridiculous and most people are shooting pictures out there in the lagoon.

-When we left half of were already in the taxi when staff came running out to give us our shell leis and they only brought two for the four of us.

-mini bar was only stocked once.

-11 am check out is way too early and they seem to make it challenging to get late check out

-hotel is kind of remote.limited places to walk to and thus limited places to eat
especially for lunch.

-outside deck had ugly roach like water bugs popping up at night.

-This hotel had LOTS of honeymoon couples as would be expected but -surprisingly more to us than Bora Bora and then there is the well heeled crowd that can get quite annoying if you let it.

Bottom line -very nice hotel with memorable and very pretty OTWB -lots of reef and sea life really enhance the stay.
Probably the best OTWB on Moorea. Most of our group surprisingly preferred the Intercontinental la Moana on BoraBora because it was more low key and more atmospheric than the Hilton Moorea but for most people the Hilton will deliver a great FP OTWB experience that most people would be very very happy with.

ASK FOR LATE CHECK OUT-IT IS WORTH IT!!
tips -take some bread home from the breakfast buffet and feed the fish!!

rooms around the crepe place may attract more sharks around your bungalow but you will also have to deal with the crowds around the crepe place all evening.

bring a waterproof camera, take it out on a paddle board and shoot pictures of your honey and your bungalow from the water!

-if you go to the lilikoi cafe bring mosquito spray,
-front desk has electrical converters that they can loan you for free.

do not rent a movie-dvd-they charge you ten usd.that is crazy and you are not there to watch movies anyways.

taxi transfer set up by hilton for family of four with luggage pick up at airport then to hilton was 30 usd total.
taxi transfer for same family to ferry dock was 35 usd total.
airport to hilton is 20 minutes,
hilton to ferry dock is 25 minutes.

We stayed for the first four nights of our honeymoon at the beginning of October. Overall we had a very enjoyable stay. Our villa was in excellent condition, and housekeeping kept it well maintained, clean and tidy each day. Bottled water, coke and beer was provided daily in the minibar on a complementary basis, and the breakfast buffet was delicious with a good range of choice. We enjoyed the crepes at the crepe restaurant over the water and watching the sharks swimming below during dinner was really awesome. The main swimming pool was clean and well serviced, and the beach with the mountain backdrop was absolutely beautiful. I would recommend getting out and doing some excursions, we did diving, an atv tour and a whale watching tour, all of which were fantastic experiences. The only problem we had was that we had to chase guest services multiple times to get the bottle of champagne we were expecting in our room. We called about 6 times over the course of nearly 2 hours before it eventually arrived. We did the buffet evening with Polynesian dancers and although the dancing was excellent, we though the buffet was overpriced for the quality and range of food on offer. Otherwise we had an excellent stay and would recommend this hotel.

Ia Orana Ellie M!

Thank you for sharing your comment on TripAdvisor, we were honored to welcome you in our resort for such a special occasion; once again: congratulations!

We are delighted to see that you enjoyed your stay here, your bungalow, amenities, our breakfast buffet and Overwater Crêpes Bar.

However, we would like to apologize for the delay when receiving your bottle of champagne. We hope that this miscommunication issue did not prevent you from having great memories in Moorea.

We are hoping to welcome you back at Hilton Moorea Lagoon Resort & Spa one day!

Kind regards,
