Description: We did a U turn to go back to this winery because we saw the sign on the side of the building as we were travelling home through southern Ontario. It was worth the U turn. Great wine tasting as well as micro-brewery beers available for purchase. We had lunch and were amazed at the quality of the food and the butter tart was to die for. We left with the impression "this is somewhere we want to return to"

“Attention lacking”
Reviewed 21 July 2012

Our visit was July 20. Attention to details is a sign of good management and a menu that spells sandwich (sandwhich) and focaccia (focatcha) should never be presented to your customers. Bite the bullet and reprint the menu.
Chicken salad was enjoyed by the 3 people who had it but too much mayo for one person. Salmon sandwich- bread far too hard and salad wilted.
Server never did explain that you could order a bottle of wine and take leftover home until we asked. Server gives you a long list of wine and then indicates which are available. Seniors do not have a good memory- try another method of presenting this info.
Regular coffee was far too strong, decaf ok.
Service quite slow.

“Good food, slow service”
Reviewed 25 June 2012

My parents took me here after my graduation. It is inside a fruit winery.
The food was excellent but it just took an hour to get it. If your not in a hurry then it is great but if you don't have an hour to wait to get your food then maybe go elsewhere.
They have a good selection of fruit wines as well.

“Lunch at Carolinian Winery Thorndale”
Reviewed 6 June 2012

Lunch menu currently consists of three gourmet sandwiches, a burger, two pasta entrees, a soup of the day and four salads. During a recent lunch visit I had the shaved root vegetable salad, my friend had the pulled port sandwich on a pretzel type bun, with side salad. The sandwich was delicous, the shaved root salad was thinly sliced colourful carrots on sparse curly endive type lettuce. A whole plate of it was not entirely appetizing or a gratifying meal, although the dressing was tasty. The salad would be better served as a side with some protein in order to make a meal. As for their wines they will allow you a sampling before ordering. All fruit based wines. Service was efficient and friendly. Pricepoint average.
The sunny patio atmosphere is nice as well. With great local support and some menu tweaking this place will do well.

“Nice winery...under new ownership”
Reviewed 8 August 2011

We stopped in here while staying at Just For You B&B down the road. The staff is wonderful - helpful, very friendly, etc. Really nice seating area outside to enjoy your glass of wine and a snack or lunch. Enjoyed trying some of the wines & decided on a couple of bottles of Messin' Around. I thought their Cranberry & Jazzberry were nice as well. Didn't really care for the Blueberry...had a strange "smokey" after-taste. But we'll definitely return when we're traveling in the area again in the future!
