We booked for 3 nights and stayed for 1. We had the ground floor room with easy access. To use this entrance we had to walk down the side drive which was in a very poor state, apart from the builders' rubbish there were open food bins being attacked by seagulls. The room, although clean, was in a time warp. The hospitality tray was on a shelf in a deep recess making it very difficult to use, the bathroom was so outdated and certainly not suitable for people with disabilities, had the toilet been any lower it would have been a hole in the ground. The shower was miniscule, there was nowhere to put anything. The beds smelt of damp and the carpet should have been replaced years ago. The breakfast which had such rave reviews was mediocre in the extreme, the coffee was instant and the fruit practically non-existent. The hosts were pleasant and helpful and front of house was very nice, just don't book room 13.

Room Tip: If you have any disabilities do not expect comfort or convenience.

We stayed for two nights in June in the Family room with our two children aged 12 & 14. A double bed and bunks provided more than enough enough space. We met both Peter and Judith who were both helpful and friendly. A nice quiet location and within walking distances of restaurants.

The position of this could not have been better for us. Easy walking distance to town and plenty of parking at the hotel. (We did park on the road but it was no problem and we could have put the car onto the drive if we'd known.) The room had everything you'd expect and the breakfast was ample and good. Free wifi though the signal did not reach my room!

The decor was a little dated but everything was very clean and actually it was nice not to stay somewhere which tried for corporate blandness.

The price was good and as I say the location was great, sea at the end of the road and an easy walk into town/the beach.

Room Tip: Our twin room had no wifi signal - a must in this part of Wales where general data signal is patchy...

We had room on the ground floor. The decoration was dated but it gave a warm feeling. The hotel and room were very clean and tidy. Judith was very nice, friendly and welcoming. I can't say I slept well but it was not too bad. As soon as I opened the window in the night for some fresh air, all I heard was loud cawing seagulls. It seemed like they had a nest right above our room. But once I closed the window, there was no noise but it got hot inside and that disturbed my sleep. The breakfast was just O.K

The owners are extremely friendly and approachable; they go out of their way to help. The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming.
I stayed for three nights over the October half-term (2013) with my ten year old daughter and my Dad who was celebrating his 80th birthday. Our ground floor rooms were clean, spacious, comfortable, cosy and warm. The rooms were well equipped with a TV, tea/coffee facilities, hair dryer, shower, bath and had great attention to detail (even the toilet paper was good quality!). The décor was individual and sometimes quirky but beautifully done and thankfully miles away from the boring, unimaginative bland type you get in chain hotels.
A wonderful family hotel. We definitely plan to stay again.

From stepping into the spacious reception we received a warm and friendly welcome from our hosts Judy and Peter. Accurate information of the area was given freely which is very important when the stay is a short one which ours was.

The hotel itself is pleasant, very clean and overall a very nice place to stay - well done to the hosts for having such a high standard! The breakfast was very, very good and eaten in a lovely dining room. We would without doubt stay there again.

As the hotel is based very close to the sea front it makes it an ideal base. A few minutes away in Rhos are good restaurants and cafes so eating out is no problem. You are in a good position at the Ashwood to explore all North Wales has to offer. We are just sorry our stay was not longer - still perhaps next time!

Stayed at the Ashmount from 24th - 26th August 2013. We required ground floor rooms, because my mother uses a wheelchair. We had two very good rooms next to each other. The twin room had external access for a wheelchair, if necessary. Our stay was wonderful, the hosts Judith & Peter were most hospitable and could not do enough for us. The breakfast was one of the best I have ever had, it was cooked fresh from your order. Cannot recommend this hotel more highly. We hope to visit again in the Autumn.

Room Tip: Ask for one on the 1st floor or 2nd floor.
