Mount Stewart Hotel
Ranked #6 of 7 Rhos-on-Sea B&B and Inns
Reviewed 1 November 2012

I have been coming to Rhos On Sea for many years and never had a bad experience with any hotel or bed and breakfast I have stayed in. Unfortunately, Mount Stuart Hotel, is by far the worst hotel I have ever stayed in anywhere around the world.

We chose Mount Stuart because of the pictures on their website and they also offered a VIP door to door all inclusive 5 night stays. All of their website and details were a complete shambles of a lie; the VAN (literally much better quality taxi van's) was in very poor condition in and out, with broken seat belts and litter on the floor. The driver of the van didn't even meet us at our door, he parked at the top of the street and made us walk, so much for door to door service. Whilst on the motorway the driver broke the speed limits, talked on his phone while driving, kept chatting to two ladies behind him without keeping his eyes on the road and if that wasn't enough he didn't budget for the petrol mileage and charged me and my friend £10 extra even though this was supposedly and "all inclusive" vacation, but apparently their lack of budgeting skills were our fault and we were charged.

Upon arrival of the hotel we were greeted by the female hotelier who was aggressive, arrogant and uncaring from the very start. We were led to our hotel room, which was roughly 5x5 in size, scruffy, broken amenities, no sea view as promised (unless you wanted to dangerously hang out of the window) and last of all NO LOCK ON THE DOOR; we had to place our suitcase behind the door at night for a tiny bit of security.

The food was horrific, poor quality, stale bread and the dining room was set up into long 8 seater tables, you didn't have a choice were to sit and were given your spot, a time and no option to change.

The corridors were filled with walking amenities for the elderly, who in my opinion whilst staying at Mount Stuart were treated quite harshly and unfairly by the female hotelier who had very little time for anyone, especially the elderly people staying there. We soon found out anyone who was able to venture out on their own would go and have breakfast, lunch and dinner elsewhere around Rhos On Sea to escape the dreadful food Mount Stuart were serving. We actually met several of the "younger" (50+) guests in various cafe's around Rhos On Sea and they shared the exact same view as us. What also shocked me was the cafe owners didn't know where to look or say when we told them we where staying at Mount Stuart, they just pitied us and confirmed it's known to be the worst place to stay in Rhos On Sea by far.

We complained to the male hotelier Jordan upon leaving early but he was abusive, arrogant and aggressive on the phone before slamming it down on me.

PLEASE DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY AND HOLIDAY on this Hotel, whatever age category you are in I will guarantee you have a poor time and are mistreated from the get go.

** Photo's of this horrific hotel will be uploaded shortly from my mobile phone **
