I booked a table on a Wednesday lunchtime for an 80th birthday celebration. The owner was very agreeable to us going in beforehand to decorate the table and throughout the time we were there the staff were very good. Everyone had the carvery which is very good value at £7.95. All the veg had just been refreshed and there was excellent choice. The sweet trolley is brilliant, plenty of choice and everyone enjoyed their choices. The only thing a couple of us thought was that the coffee was far too strong but apart from that i would thoroughly recommend.

In the past under the previous owner this was a fantastic food eatery which I recommended to all my visitors. Last year was OK but I booked for an Anniversary on Sept.7th 2011 to discover it was nearly empty !! We had the Carvery -but I couldn't eat mine ! It was not only bland but it did not taste right. What a disappointment,no wonder it was empty !

Came here in early July for Sunday carvery after a few friends had reccomended the place. I must stress that I cannot fault the staff whatsoever! we as a family just found the food nothing out of the ordinary, and felt that the £8.50 per head was a little steep.

Having visited a number of carverys, Country Cousins in Westward Ho is not one of the best. Inside the decor is rather drab and crockery dated. The chairs felt overused and rickety.

The que for the carvery was a little strange, for the size of the place, it was rather tiny, and with a long que, you feel sorry for those whose tables are right next to the carvery part, having to put up with the constant ques. The meats looked really tasty, but the accompanyments were a letdown. The yorkshire puds and many of the vegetables looked like they were frozen and would have been alot nicer fresh. They may have been fresh but did not seem so when tasting. Meat was nice and tender, but with it being a carvery you would expect to help yourself to the vegetables, but found that one of the staff dished out most of it (and in rather rubbish portions too!) and the atmosphere definately made you feel like you couldn't get as much as you wanted (when you are paying quite alot for a carvery, it is nice to think you can help yourself).

Overall our opinion was that it was nothing special. We travelled there for the occasion and felt that it was definately overhyped food wise. The food is tasty, and the staff very polite but carvery is not really worth £8.50.
