“Amazing facilities, service and location”
Reviewed 24 July 2014

This is our 4th consecutive year at Westward Living Duckhaven Stud. We keep coming back because we don't believe we could find anywhere better to use as a base to explore North Devon. The service is personal and the facilities are great for all ages. The location is wonderful with breath taking views of both the rolling hills and the stunning coast line. . . Not to mention the mesmerising sunsets. I would recommend The Blue and Green restaurant Westward Ho! for lunch or dinner, with its lovely food and sea front views. We thoroughly enjoy our annual week in Star Cottage and look forward to many more visits.

We stayed here for our honeymoon in the royal celerity, and wow what a beautiful cottage this is everything was just perfect, the staff are very helpful and polite and nothing is too much trouble. The grounds are beautiful and all the little extras like the cream tea, chocolate truffles, the chocolate bar we were given for our journey home it was such a lovely personal touch and we will definitely be returning In the future. Thank you for everything. Scott & Lisa jenner

What an amazing place, stayed for four days and Kathy, Chris and their team could not have been more accommodating. Arriving with two babies they arranged an early check in for us and actually went out of their way to do this.

The standard of the accommodation is nothing else but first class.

We were here for a wedding,Kathy and Chris have only been hosting weddings for a year and have it spot on, there could be no better place for a Wedding its so different.

Keep up the good work it is appreciated and I know Luke and Zara had the wedding of their dreams.

Please don't miss out on a wonderful experience whether it be for a short break or a relaxing week or two, you won't be disappointed, can't recommend this place enough!!

Wow wow wow, is all I can say. We stayed in Warm Winter cottage for a long weekend with our 1 year old daughter and 7 week old son, along with my parents. Kathy and Chris the owners couldn't have been more accommodating. The cottages are all very different however share on thing in common, the fixtures, fittings and furnishings are all of a high standard. Each cottage is equipped with everything you could possibly need in a self catering cottage. Considering Kathy and Chris are new to this (they have only been doing this for less than a year) they have got it spot on.

My cousin got married in the Ocean have here. A uniquely amazing wedding. Staff were amazing and the views are spectacular.

A must, must when considering places to stay in Devon.

We have just returned from a short break at Westward Living and felt compelled to right a review! We stayed in the Royal Celerity for two nights for my husbands 30th birthday and we couldn't have asked for more. From the moment we walked into the cottage we could not believe our eyes! It is absolutely exquisite. The cottage is beautifully decorated with a cosy living room and open plan kitchen. In the corner of the room are some wooden stairs which lead up to an incredible bedroom with a large jacuzzi bath tub. There is also a separate bathroom which has a wonderful rain shower. Both downstairs and upstairs have some large patio doors which span the entire width of the wall giving guests a beautiful view of the rolling hills and horses in the nearby fields. One night we sat on the balcony with some drinks as the sun light cascaded over us and all we could hear was the odd bumble bee flying past and the horses neighing close by. It was heaven!

Aside from the cottage itself we were really touched by the special little extras that were provided such as cream tea on arrival, chocolates on the bed and spa treats next to the bath. All of these little things made our stay truly memorable.

We would also like to thank Matt (Head Groundsman) who was there to greet us on arrival and show us around our cottage. We bumped into him later on during our stay and had a little chat with him then. He was so friendly, full of information (we loved hearing about the horses) and couldn't be more helpful.

On the day of departure Kathy (one of the owners) knocked on our door to see if we had enjoyed our stay. We had a lovely little chat and she left us with some personalised chocolate to take home with us. Eventually it was time for us to leave and we really didn't want to go. In fact we even looked on the website to see if the cottage was booked the following night (sadly it was) as we may have stayed even longer!

We can not thank you enough for such a wonderful break and we hope that one day we can come back!

We stayed in Warm Winter for a long weekend with our 4 year old son. Lovely cottage with everything we needed. Very comfortable beds. Our son loved spending time exploring the farm. Nice walk down to the coastal path and along to Westward Ho! Kathy and Chris very welcoming and a delicious cream tea waiting in our fridge.
