I have just had lunch at Moran's with a friend. I ordered Pad Thai which was nicely presented with a salad garnish. It was however disappointing , the sauce was slightish sweet, there was no chilli in it and it was not served with a wedge of lemon or lime. I have had a number of Pad Thais in various places and this one was the least authentic in my view.

My friend thought her meal, sweet and sour prawns was fairly average and didn't feel that she had the jasmin rice as stated on the menu.

The other strange thing was that there were 3 dogs inside the restaurant with their owners.
For a better quality Thai meal , go to Phansit's kitchen , which is a mobile take away service , Thursdays in Westward Ho!, Friday in Bideford and Saturday near Fremington Quay. They make an excellent pad Thai.

I just knew it, 9 pages of meat , fish and chicken and half a page for vegetarian dishes all of which were variations on Tofu, i like tofu usually but i would have thought a better range of vege choices would have been available Also Prawn crackers are not suitable for vegetarians either so no thought gone into that either.................
Doubt we would eat here again as theres so little vegetarian choice. At least it was the usual Pasta or rice dish for the veges....................
Perhaps if they change the menu so theres more choice i ,d go again but that remains to be seen.............im not being nasty just honest, its good when people read reviews and respond to helpful criticism.

Wow! This restaurant is amazing! When we arrived we were greeted by a lovely man (I assume he was the owner) and we asked to sit outside for a drink prior to our meal which was no problem what so ever. We were swiftly attended to by a lovely waitress who brought us a wine/cocktail list, the prices are reasonable considering the choices. we were then left to decide what we would like and she came back a bit later. After ordering our wine (which was lovely!) we were brought a very big menu with some fantastic Thai and English dishes. The waitress couldn't be more helpful, we were deciding on food and thought the Thai set meal at £24.95pp was fantastic with a good choice of dishes but we are not fish eaters! When we mentioned this to the waitress she went straight to the kitchen and asked if the fish dishes could be changed to chicken of which this was no problem what so ever.
When we were shown to our table we were swiftly brought crackers and dips before our starters came out. We had mixed starters which were delicious we then had a duck dish, chicken, pork, noodle, vegetable and rice dish for our main and a delicious traditional Thai dessert (mixed fruit platter)
Overall our evening at Morans was fab and a great way to spend our 5th wedding anniversary! We will most defiantly be returning in the not to distant future :-) thank you Morans!

We were a party of 5 at this restaurant last week. We shared dishes to get an appreciation of the range of tastes on offer and we were not disappointed. All dishes were most enjoyable. The service was also friendly, polite and efficient. All in all, one to recommend.

We used Moran's twice during a family holiday, once for lunch, and once for an evening takeaway. The lunch was excellent - great choice, good service, nice setting. The takeaway (Thai) was also excellent - ready promptly, and the food was delicious. The only criticism we would have is that children (I think under 14) cannot eat in Moran's after 6pm. Having had an excellent lunch there, we would have been very keen to return in the evening, but could not with our 12 and 10 year old sons.
