First things first, you can't really compare it to a privately owned beach resort hotel. It is owned by a religious community of nuns, but run for them by a local cooperative. No nuns on site by the way. The staff are very friendly and all rooms and communal areas are kept very clean. The rooms are functional, if a bit old fashioned, but fine if just sleeping there. 2 single beds pushed together. Small bath with hand held shower. No hairdryer but am guessing they would lend you one if needed.
I paid 80 euros including dinner and breakfast. Dinner was buffet style - two types of pasta, then chicken or fish and a choice of veggies, then a cream dessert. It was ok, but veggies lukewarm and a bit soft. Bottles of wine for 10Euros,soft drinks 1-3. Large dining room and busy with families. Breakfast was a decent range, they put out ham and cheese when we asked, no fresh fruit though. They give you a front door key so you can come and go as you like.
Riva town is small, the front promenade is pleasant and there was a fair choiceof bars and restaus. We had a good snack and beer at 'Blu Bar'. Beach a decent size, mix of private beaches and public areas.
Overall...an ok stay, staff lovely...room fine...but it could maybe do with some investment to modernise a bit?
