Alison House is hidden away just on the edge of Cromford, Derbyshire and be easily overlooked as a place to go for a meal.
The area has a huge range of restaurants and enough to cover most tastes but Alison House easily keeps ahead of many of the others simply on the quality of its food, it's excellent service and value for money.
The building was once part of the huge Arkwright estate and is a place worth seeing on own rights. The restaurant is part of what they offer.
The menu is generally what you might term traditional English but as mentioned earlier quality and price make it one of our favourites. There is a small menu but a good range - on Sundays they offer a Carvery which is very popular.
