We visited Alison House over the Valentines weekend, after an enjoyable afternoon relaxing in the lounge with a few G & T's we retired to our room to get ready for the evening meal. Our room (the holiday lodge just off the main hotel building) was furnished tastefully, with ample facilities should you have been self catering. We made our way to the dining room, was greeted by the manager and shown to a table in the bar area to enjoy a complimentary glass of champagne whilst choosing our evening meal from the menu. This I feel is a nice touch. Wine was recommended by the manager, who must have a vast experience in this field as we could not fault her choice (Although the picture of a rather strange looking horse on the bottle we found a little strange!!) Dinner was a relaxed affair with all courses been to a fantastic standard. After dinner we again retired to the lounge with coffee's and after dinner drinks served by the extremely attentive bar manager, who although was on breakfast duty in the morning made no attempt to rush us off to our rooms. Breakfast again in the restaurant was relaxed with plenty of choice from the menu, service by all waitress's very professional. To sum up the whole visit I would say one word.......marvellous!!! Definitely worth a visit
