“Lovely food in a unique setting”
Reviewed 23 July 2014

We stumbled upon Biddy's after a long walk in need of some refreshment on a Sunday afternoon. It had evidently been busy but the host (I think he is the owner but not sure) was very friendly and served us as quickly as he could. The Ploughman's lunch was delicious as was the St Celemence (orange and lemon) cake. It was lovely to find somewhere so unique, where it's obvious that a lot of care and attention has gone into the decoration, which is a mix of vintage/shabby chic items (lots of which seemed to be for sale in the adjacent shop) and old family photos showing Biddy herself. Hope to be able to visit again soon.

“cake nice - coffee not so good”
Reviewed 18 July 2014 via mobile

Took coffee and cake here during weekday lunch, ordered cappucino, not sure what I got but was quite weak with no froth. Nice st clements cake - decent sized portion. Was the only couple there so felt a little stark atmosphere wise. Found the fusty smell a little offputting but guess thats down to the old books and other paraphernalia on display. Maybe a few scented candles wouldnt be a bad idea.

“Tea time nostalgia”
Reviewed 13 July 2014

Whilst out for a Sunday drive, we stumbled across this absolutely wonderful teashop. Even better that lots of the nostalgic items in side were for sale too and I could have bought half the shop! We had a refreshing cup of tea in proper china teacups (not the usual tiny teapot either, we had four cups each) and a huge portion of delicious cake. The service is perfect and one of the owners told us how the place had been named, which made it even more quaint. Definitely going back for my mums birthday, she will love it as much as we did. Needs a better photo on advert as it is fabulous once you are inside :-) You have to step through the front door just once and you will want to go back. It is the best tea room we have come across in a very very long time. Highly recommended.

“Never mind the cake, what about the wonderful shopping!”
Reviewed 5 July 2014 via mobile

Have just returned from my new favourite shop for adorable things. I could have bought vintage jewellery, a magnificent wedding hat, or a charming coffee set, but this time it was 'just' art. Whoever does the buying here has exquisite taste. I shall return!

“Just like grandma's front room!”
Reviewed 27 June 2014

There are tea room and there are tea rooms and then there is wonderful Biddly's in the heart of Cromford village! This is probably one of the most friendliest vintage-style places to get a tasty afternoon tea in the whole of Derbyshire. It's just a pity that the place isn't twice as big as getting a table on a busy afternoon requires a short but not unpleasant wait. It's not an issue though as there is so much to see in the adjoining antique shop. Well done guys, real tea leaves, strainers and a mouthwatering selection of great cakes served up on superb bone china all add to a wonderful experience. So, if you're just passing through Cromford on the way to the Peak District, why not pop into Biddys for afternoon tea - you won't be disappointed.
