A delicious, well cooked and presented meal. We used to eat here a lot in the past, but the value and the service deteriorated, so switched allegiance to other places. Tempted by the celebration of Suffolk food evening we decided to give it another try. Others had told us that things had improved and they were right. No complaints at all and we'll be back. The food is excellent value for money, well cooked and presented and really tasty, the staff good and the place comfortable

We went here on Easter Sunday and we booked rather late and was surprised that they managed to fit us in as there was 5 of us and a dog . As we had a dog I was expecting to be put in the bar , but was surprised that we had a table reserved in the restaurant area .
The food was great , a good choice , and at a great value , plus a good choice of beers, ciders and wine , and a reasonable priced children's menu.
The staff was attentive and very friendly. Overall , one of the best family pubs it have dined in , and because of the pubs name ,couldn't of done better to accommodate our dog.

We came here for a quiet meal but it was disrupted by the landlady and her friends drinking away her profits. The food was so so but it has gone down hill since I last attended. The service was not the same as before either as they appeared to have had a change in staff which is a shame.

A group of 10 of us travelled to Suffolk to see a dear friend, and on the Saturday we decided to go for a long walk; with the reward of a tasty lunch at the end.
We arrived at the Dog half an hour after they’d stopped serving food and turned the kitchen appliances off. HOWEVER the staff were so kind and welcoming that they still catered for us anyway, and the food was delicious!
The service and atmosphere was delightful and even our four legged companion had a good feed and enjoyed herself.
The staff were great fun and even entertained me in some cocktail making.
It was a lovely day, and I will always remember my Saturday afternoon at the Dog very fondly. I would recommend it to anyone that wants to relax and feel at home in a magical atmosphere, surrounded by wonderful people, drink, and of course food!

Visit from time to time and never disappointed. 10 months since a lunch review, so a late dinner with business colleagues deserved a mention.

Alarmingly empty, but public bar buzzing. Seemingly solo bar staff nonetheless didn't impair excellent and attentive service. The efficiency of the lady was counter to those similar experiences you have when stretched staff often make a point of drawing attention to the fact that they are ' understaffed'. Prompt, friendly, attentive, engaging and responsive.

It was steak night with a great deal, 2 steaks and house wine for £35. However we had Bavette ( french cut of meat, we debated if there was an English equivalent), a simple plate which was more than enough. Well kept Wherry and Victoria from Earl Soham.

We ate late ( last orders 9 pm we were gently reminded), but a good value pub supper with exceptional service. Highly recommended.
