“Good in parts but some problems”
Reviewed 6 August 2018 for a stay in June 2018

Quirky, unusual, loads of character, the property lived up to its billing. We liked the spacious lounge, dining room and kitchen. However there were issues. The picture on the website and brochure is the back of the house and back garden: the front of the house is just a few feet from the A487 trunk road, there is traffic on the road 24/7 and every night our sleep was disturbed by noise. Also there is no phone signal inside the property, the owners information pack suggests there should be signal if you walk up the road. As a couple of seniors with medical issues we would never have booked a place we couldn’t call for help from. The local shop and beach implied in the publicity are actually 1.2 miles and 2 miles away, the busy road has no pavement much of the way so it’s not a nice walk. Finally indoors some of the door openings are really low, the lowest being about 5 ft 6 inches. I hit my head on it several times. Also the bathroom is as far as possible from the bedroom. So these things should have been included in the information before booking.

We are sorry to hear that you feel misinformed. The photo you have described actually has text on it saying "Rear of property" and we do try to make sure our write up gives as much information as possible.
The write up below does contain all the information you seem to mention is missing.
Using google maps the shop is 1 mile away. The beach is 1 mile and the coast is .7 mile.
The cottage is within the 40mph limit so any traffic should not be travelling too fast. In the low season the roads are quieter.
Older cottages often have low doorways, I'm 5'8" and know how you feel, it’s not pleasant when you walk into a stone wall. Sadly, there's not much short of knocking walls down that can be done. The shepherds must have been a lot shorter when the cottage was built 400 years ago than we are today.
Unfortunately mobile phone signal is very difficult in this area and indeed in many rural spots. Some networks work in certain areas and not in others. There is WiFi in the cottage so you could have run your phone through that had you wished.
If you would ever like to come back to Wales, we would be more than happy to try and find you a property that really met your requirements. Just call us and we will try to help.
We look forward to hearing from you.
Kind regards
The Coast & Country Holidays (welsh-cottages) Team.
