“Awful food”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 4 March 2012

We stopped off in the Glyn Valley Hotel in the afternoon for a pint. The Carlsberg was warm. We gave them the benefit of the doubt, and went back for an evening meal, which was terrible. Steak and ale pie - was basically stew, with a miniscule piece of flaky pastry on top, dry, unseasoned vegetables, and the worst mashed potatoes I have EVER had. No butter, salt or anything in it. And expensive too! The young lads (aged early 20s) who were in the pub came out of the pub after we had had our meal, and tried to start a fight with me and my friend, for no reason, leaving us with no option but to run off into the local woods to hide. All in all, a terrible experience!

Excellent family room , double with an adjoining bunk room Children had an excellent time. Room was as new and of a high quality .
The location is extremely good for walking ,sightseeing llangollen is close by,and just enjoying superb countryside with the children. The landlady has a feast of local knowledge and definitely helped us plan our days out
After a great day out we had dinner in the bar, again a wide and varied menu catering for both my wife ,myself and the children needs. Menu even included some wonderful Swiss dishes including a very tasty Rosti. Food was well presented a extremely good value.
Once the children had gone to bed, we went to the bar and enjoyed the local company, as for me being a real ale fan ,there was a nice selection some never seen before.
All in all a delightful hotel with great service and a very special friendly welcome
