“Lovely pet-friendly cottage in a pretty village”
Reviewed 3 February 2017 for a stay in January 2017

Lots to see and do close to the cottage, very historic village. Jo (host) and her hubbie ensured we had everything we needed. This included some 'homemade' bakewell pudding on arrival. Very thoughtful (and delicious), thanks Jo! I would recommend this little gem to others and will definitely book again for a summer weekend break later in the year.

“Pretty, cosy cottage in stunning countryside”
Reviewed 8 January 2017 for a stay in January 2017

We had a wonderful stay in early January. The cottage was convenient for some lovely walks in the stunning countryside and it was super to come back to the cosy comfortable cottage. The hosts were very warm and friendly and the pub recommendations were great. We would definitely recommend it for a Derbyshire break.

“A cosy cottage in a friendly village”
Reviewed 14 November 2016 for a stay in November 2016

We booked this cottage for a long weekend break for me and my husband and my sister and her husband. We also took our dog Reggie.
We could not have wished for anything more. When we arrived Jo had left us some Bakewell tart which went down a treat with a cup of tea.
There is a big kitchen an open fire that was all set up and ready to go and a large table that was great for us to sit around and have our full English before heading out for the day. The kitchen had everything you would need including a dish washer. There was a utility room and downstairs loo that had extra bags of logs for the fire. £5.00 a bag. One bag lasted the night. It also had a washing machine and tumble dryer that we used to wash out some muddy clothes after a walk. There was a dog bed and a towel left out for our Reggie which is a nice touch.
The living room is warm and cosy with another open fire again all ready to light. The central heating has an override button so although it is timed to come on morning and evening, you could have it on anytime.
The bedrooms were spacious with the comfiest bed I have ever slept in and the bathroom had a big bath and an overhead shower.
There is a pub around a 10 min walk away that had lovely food and was so friendly and just outside the front door was a walk up to the fields and beyond.
Really dog friendly which was why we chose the cottage and I would 100% go back.
There was nothing negative I could say about the accommodation. They have thought of everything.
A tip would be to take some slippers though as the stone floors downstairs can feel a little cold

“Cute and totally charming little cottage”
Reviewed 30 August 2016 for a stay in August 2016

We found East View cottage as a relatively last minute short break in the summer and were not sure what to expect as it was available for the very specific dates we needed in August. However, we were very pleasantly surprised at what a lovely place it is.

It is set in a much more convenient part of the village that we had expected (we imagined as it was attached to a farm it would be outside the actual village) and all the village amenities were just a short stroll away. The cottage retains so much historic charm and character while offering modern conveniences. We travelled as a party of 4 adults, 1 child and a baby/toddler but at no time did we feel overcrowded and the cottage comfortably housed us all.

Unfortunately, due to the weather, we made use of the two fires, which we hadn't expected in August. But they were there and lit effortlessly. We very much appreciated the extensive information on both the cottage and the local area and the lovely welcome note and Bakewell Pudding left by the owner.

We would very much like to visit for a longer time in the future

“Beautiful cottage, great location, the whole family loved it!”
Reviewed 10 August 2016 for a stay in August 2016

The cottage is very well equipped and comfortable, all of the rooms are in keeping with the period feel and have lots of lovely homely touches plus modern conveniences such as good wifi. The village of Eyam has great amenities nearby and we used the shop, tea room, post office and pub during our short stay. It is very well placed for exploring the Peak District and surrounding area too. Our group consisted of two adults a teenager and a young child and we all felt very at home here. We don't usually make return visits to properties but all agreed that we'd be very happy to come back here!

“Cosy and comfortable”
Reviewed 3 July 2016 for a stay in May 2016

Stayed with my mother for 4 nights at the end of May. The cottage has bags of character but at the same time is well equipped for modern life. The large TV, good wifi etc were much appreciated after a busy day walking and sightseeing as were the really comfy beds. Eyam is a good base to explore the Peaks with lovely walks, friendly little towns like Bakewell and Buxton, and many country houses to explore. Parking is on the road beside the cottage but I understand that you could use space at the owners farm along the track from the cottage if that was a concern. We enjoyed the home baked bread and farm eggs left for us and Jo the owner offers home made meals and other farm produce but we didn't take advantage of this as we didn't find the notice about this on the wall behind the kitchen door until we were about to leave. Overall a very enjoyable stay and we are both recommending this cottage to family and friends.
