“Welcoming and Quirky”
Reviewed 19 August 2014 for a stay in August 2014

Rachel and Haydn were very welcoming and friendly.

The hut is beautiful decorated and very cosy. The shower room is very clean and well decorated - there is tea and coffee making facilities and a fridge to store drinks.

Breakfast was delivered to the hut in the morning at a time agreed. Very cute and yummy!

The village is beautiful and friendly with a lot of history to it. We enjoyed a lovely meal at the local village pub, the Miners Arms.

Overall, we had a fab time and would love to go back!

“perfect retreat from the stresses of the world.”
Reviewed 14 August 2014 for a stay in August 2014

Stayed for a three night mini honeymoon, we wanted peace and tranquillity and thats exactly what we got and so much more. The hut is beautiful and feels like a secret hideaway from the rest of the world. It was cosy and warm without the fire burning even on a rainy night.
Rachel and Haydn wher the perfect hosts they felt more like friends than the owners. The hospitality we received was that of a 5* hotel.
Breakfast was the most wonderful experience a wicker hamper delivered to your door at a time of your choosing. It contains tasty goodies of fresh breads, jams, honey, yogurt with berries and a flask of hot tea or coffee.
The wash facilities where immaculately clean and finished to a very high standard just like tne hut. Surplied was clean cotten towels, crockery, kettle, the use of the fridge, tea, coffee and even fresh milk. My appoligies if iv forgotten something.
There was plenty of choice regards evening dining all in close proximity to the hut ,we can highly recommend the white horse and the barrel inn both of which where recommend to us by Rachel.
We are delighted by our stay and will be returning in the very near future.

Unfortunately this review has been written without any hint of dissatisfaction whilst the guests were here & contrary to the positive comments left in a note before departure. The website explains the huts location & the need to walk up the garden to the washroom. On arrival all guests are shown the facilities explaining that there IS crockery, a kettle, complimentary tea/coffee/milk & the fridge for their use throughout their stay. The washroom has it's own lock & a blind on the door for privacy.

What a quirky and beautiful place to stay. Rachel & Haydn were such great hosts we felt like we were staying with friends. So many lovely places to eat and walk or just chill at the Hut with wine and chocolate....well, we did! Just wonderful! Basil the dog and their son Will are friendly too :) Seriously, this is one NOT to be missed...we will certainly be singing its praises to out friends. In fact, we liked it so much that we've booked again for later in the year as we need to light the fire pit this time! Thanks for a great weekend!

“Fantastic mini break venue.”
Reviewed 10 June 2014 for a stay in June 2014

This is a great little gem for a relaxing break. Rachel & Haydn are fantastic hosts & their attention to detail meant we wanted for nothing during our stay.

I went with my best friend (& maid of honour) for a pre-wedding chill-out & it was everything we had hoped it would be.

The location is perfect, great views & scenery on the doorstep & Chatsworth, Bakewell & the beautiful Monsal Head close-by. The local recommended eateries are great too. The weather was variable during our stay, but it didn't spoil a thing as the hut is very cosey & equipped for all conditions.

Thoroughly recommended.

“beautiful hut but not very secluded”
Reviewed 5 June 2014 for a stay in June 2014

Rachel and her family were great hosts although we sadly didn't get to meet her in person. We had booked for three night but only stayed for one as the hut was not quite what we were after... sadly no partial refund for the nights we did not stay.
The hut itself was lovely and cosy - beautifully decorated - however it is located in the garden with the house looking directly over it. There is a hedge planted but sadly not grown up enough yet.
Apart from not being the secluded get away we were warmly welcomed, the breakfast was great and the shower room nicely done up.
I would suggest more photos could be added to the advert and a link to their more descriptive website of the hut.
Thanks for the stay ! Sorry it was for us :)

Sadly this review was registered & written before we had the opportunity to agree & confirm a partial refund which WAS made as a gesture of goodwill. We take our guests privacy very seriously & although we acknowledge that the hut is in our large garden, it is tucked away in a quiet corner approximately 30m from the house. This position does mean it benefits from its own access & it's own luxury washroom facilities. The holiday lettings description is entirely accurate, however we will add some more photos as suggested by this review to avoid any further misinterpretation.
