Like the previous reviewer, we had read past reviews and had doubts. However, we ate here last Monday night after a long drive and thought we would try it. It fact it was fine. We all had the pretty basic fish and chips and they were really nice. No complaints. We also found the woman on the bar really pleasant and really helpful. My dear brother in law thought it was great because it was Wi Fi'd.
So don't be off. It is really quite a nice pub.

booked this on a last minute gataway for my husband and i, must admit a little bit worried by some of the reviews, really need not have been they could not have been more accomadating, the staff were very friendly, the room clean and comfortable, the food was excellent and you certainly would not leave hungry, in fact most probably a good idea that that there are so many places to walk your breakfast off, we even had to walk off the evening meal. the only problem we had was when we paid they charged us £85 for the room instead of £70 as stated , when we questioned this they said that was usual for a Saturday night .on returning home i checked the website and it did not show £85 so i phoned them and they apoligised and refunding the difference and will be updating their website. we will certainly recommend this place and will be staying again in the future.

Room Tip: just to let travellers know that room 7 only had a bath not a shower, did not bother us but some peo...

When i need to get away with my two dogs, this is where I head. I always have room 7 (dog friendly) it leads straight out onto the lane, so easy access for getting the dogs in & out! Also it has a porch for muddy boots & to dry the dogs off. The food & breakfast is always good & the landlord is very accommodating, letting me have breakfast in the bar, so I can take the dogs! (As no dogs are allowed in the restaurant..) I always visit on my own so it's nice to be able to join in with the locals in the bar, who are all very friendly. The landlord & staff are all very welcoming & always make me feel at home. If you want to get away from it all, in a lovely part of the world & take 'your best friend' with you, I would highly recommend a stay here..

Visited Eyam on a bank holiday Monday on return from a camping trip in Bakewell. We all enjoyed our lunches at the Miners Arms. The portions were good and everything tasted good. Very friendly service.

Stopped over at Eyam on the way back for London. A great village with a sad and brave past. Popped in to Miners arms for lunch and we were not disappointed.
The Sea Bass was cooked very well, the stake ale and mushroom pie was also fantastic.
On the whole it had a very homly feel and the food couldn’t be more comfort food. Was an excellent way to end our trip back from The Dales.

Despite advice saying The Miners Arms was not worth a visit, we nonetheless decided to give it a try on our recent weekend visit to Eyam. Unfortunately it lived up to the poor rating of friends.
The landlord does live up to previous reviewer's comments. We found him obnoxious and childish. During the evening he raised the music in the bar to an innappropriate level for a song he liked, drowning out conversation, which was our queue to leave.
The beer was flat and unpleasant. The one positive point was that the barmaid we dealt with was fine. Our advice? Get your own beer and stay in.

A landlord who is both rude and downright insulting to visitors. Huffing and puffing because you don't want ice in your drinks, pulling a face because you want to go and sit outside, making comment because you sat on one of the tables in the beer garden that wasn't the closet to the door so he had to walk a little bit further! The food was pretty basic but the attitude of a Landlord who quite honestly should be in a dark room counting beer mats and not greeting guests was probably the worst I have ever encountered in a public house. There are many pubs close by that are much better and that make you feel welcome. The Miners Arms is a sad advert for the local people of Eyam who I am sure rely on income from visitors like myself spending over £50 on lunch!! We will NEVER be back.
