“Really only a photo oppotunity and a shop”

Llanfairpwll Railway Station
Reviewed 8 April 2014

Station now really just platform with sign as station closed and a shop to take picture at.

As modern signs it seems to have lost its fun appeal

Didn't know you could review this station, hence the delay in posting one.

Well the station is exactly that, a small town station but with one added difference, a name board that is extremely long to accomodate all the letters in it's name, people come here mainly to say they have been and to take photographs. At the far end of the car park and aimed at the many tourists that come here is a shopping outlet with a large variety of shop franchises, there is a nice restaurant/cafe that we can recommend and if you are lucky, like we were, you might just see a lady tourist guide in traditional Welsh costume looking very smart, again another photo opportunity. Somewhere that I think you would come to only once, but if you are on Angelsey and have not been before, then take a look if only for photographs.

It wasn't easy to find this place the first time I visited Angelsey. As you drive through the village from the A55 and Britannia Bridge look out for the station on your left hand side.

It's just a platform and station house, but the sign is worth it for photos and an attempt at saying the name. If only I could remember it!

Trains still call at the station en route to Holyhead and Birmingham International.

It's a station with a long name, but you knew that already. At least you've visited it though.

A station is a station, this one has a very long name and a visitor centre next to it, it was all clean and tidy.

It's just a train station but if you're in the area it's easy to get to, the car park is free and right next to it and after all it's just one of those unique places that you can say you've been to.

The station itself is good looking and there are plenty of signs with the name on to take pictures of. There's also a large gift shop next door.
