“Nothing there other than the name”

Llanfairpwll Railway Station
Reviewed 5 July 2014

We stopped in order to say that we saw the town that has the longest name. Other than that there was not much to see or do.

Made up name to attract tourist in Victorian time, might have been exiting travel there by train at that time but what a disappointed sight it was, it is, and will stay. The most exciting time?? My way back home.

There's nothing more to see here than the sign with the impossible long name of the village. Which is a shame because it's quite fun to see the big and long sign. But the little station has nothing more going for it.
Luckily there's a big shopping mall (touristy shop) across the car park, so you can still spend your pennies here!

And if you are around - it's a great opportunity to stop by. Parking is free so it won't cost you a penny

This is a railway station with a long name, a terrible overpriced store, a horrible cafe in quite a nice little village. Do not bother unless you want to take a photo of the long name. The gifts etc inside the horrible store are really over priced trash you can get else where. I understand that visitors like to see places like this but really it is not worth spending any money here. They haven't bothered to put all the signs up bilingually either and the ones that are outside are not correct grammatically. The council have apparently translated these and they should be ashamed of themselves.
Far better to turn left at the bridge over to the island, and go towards proper little welsh villages with nice beaches on the south coast of Anglesey.
