Like I told Jenny, our AMAZING guide at the distillery: "Glenlivet is not my only Scotch Whiskey, but it is my favorite." Our wonderful visit here to the distillery was all made so by the aforementioned young lady. Her expert delivery of the information during the tour made it a very enjoyable and informative visit.

Additionally, the self pour that was assisted by Addison (I think that was her name) made the visit complete as I stole away into the Scottish countryside with my very own self filled bottle.

The café in the distillery visitors center has some very good baked potatoes and Panini's as well. It was the perfect mid day meal before getting back on the road. We highly encourage stopping in if your have the time.

See you on the trail and remember, don't be one of "those."

“interesting and enjoyable whisky tour”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 August 2014

Although a little off the beaten track we received a warm welcome at the visitor centre and were able to join a tour a few minutes later with Sally and Rory as our knowledgeable and friendly guides. It was fascinating to see the whole process from barley to barrel in 45 minutes or so and a free tasting at the end with the chance for questions. A great visit. Thanks guys!

“Great tour”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 August 2014

Well worth a visit if you're looking for an informative and interesting tour. Rebecca was really good as our guide, giving lots of detail about the inner workings of the distillery and the different parts of the the whisky production. A really good brand to go to if you aren't sure about whether you like whisky, as it is a light and floral taste, rather than the cigar-smoky flavours of something like Talisker or Laphroaig. The tour finishes with a tasting of either the 12, 15 or 18 year old - if there is more than one of you I would recommend sharing a 15 then deciding whether you want to go lighter or richer for the second person's glass.
Paid tours are available with advance booking if you want more tastings and a look at some of the other areas of the distillery, but the free one was perfect for us and we didn't feel like we had missed out at all.

“Next on our tour of whiskey...”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 4 August 2014

There are so many distilleries in Scotland, it's difficult to choose where to go. This one is definitely worth it. Lovely grounds, friendly staff. Good whiskey if you like the smoky Scots variety. A good way to spend the afternoon or morning.

“Free Tour”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 2 August 2014

This is the first distillery we have visited which has been free. The guide made the visit very interesting and he certainly knew his stuff. The tour was short but long enough to find out what happened in the distillery. At the end there was a free dram which always goes down well. Worth a visit.
