As we were staying in a villa 5 minutes from The Mango Tree restaurant we thought we would give it a go.
We were greeted warmly by the staff when we arrived and shown to a table. As we were the second table in the staff were attentive and their English was excellent.
We ordered drinks of their wide selection of beers, cocktails and smoothies and all arrived promptly and were absolutely delicious.
We then ordered our meals which were very good. The gyozas and Gai Satay being the best of the appetisers.
Our main meals were also delicious but I would have preferred more vegetables in my pad-se-yew but that is not a complaint as every thai restaurant cooks it slightly differently.
The overall experience was very good, excellent value for money and you should try them out!

I got food poisoning here and two days later am still sick. The three friends I was with did not get sick. I got the massamun curry. Probably as simple as the chef not washing his hands before making mine....but I would not recommend this place to anyone....once is enough and the food was not good traditional thai food so I didnt even feel like the poisoning was justified with a fabulous meal.

Dear meredith56 ,

From your review its impossible to be like that. The food poisoning its should be happen with you in 12-24 hours after you take the food. But in your case its happen 2 day after we are very sure that not because our food or you didn't got the food from the other place after you had it at our restaurant, becase you said you got food poisoning 2 day after. And one question how do you know our chef didn't wash his hand, why your 3 friends didn't got food poisoning, we remembered they are ordered the curry with meet. You are very terrible person.
For your mussamun curry with vegetable we cook it fresh and served when it still hot, very sure for the poisoning mostly from bacteria in the meet not from the vegetale.
You should thinking more and more before you post the review because this is impossible. and discredit my restaurant.

Food was good but not that good. And compared to some restaurants approx 100 meter back ( just opposite of lipa lovely resort ) also a bit more expensive.

A new restaurant with excellent service and food and great value.the staff were very pleasant and were interested and attentive to our needs.also we were asked if we want our main courses spicy or not to spicy. We had starters and main course everyone must try the tempura vegetable and the fish cakes incredible.i have had the duck curry in most of the top end restaurants on koh samui but there's was by far the best...Overall fantastic!!!!!

great location, lovely seating, on traditional thai cushions, or at table and chairs, friendly staff, excellent menu, green curry was exceptional, and they had creme brulee on the desserts menu......it wa s delicious... there are not many restaurants in the lipa noi area, so this is a little gem for those living around that area!
