“Great place to relax”
Reviewed 23 July 2014

We enjoyeed our stay at Siams Residence, everything was nice and quiet. The houses are pretty huge, and super comfortable beds.

The food at the resturant are too pricey, compared to the location and the quality. As well as the breakfast, it's not very variated - a small buffet would definantly have been better.

The pool is very nice, and the beach is super, as well as the water - nice and clean.

I won't give this 5/5 because of the price, the food and since it's located away from the city - they maybe should consider a daily shuttle into the town.

Will we come back here? Yes for sure!

We spent 10 days in Siam residence. All 4 of us loved it a lot! Everything was nice, from housing, swimming poll and beach. Staff was just wonderful, especially Michael, the manager who did all possible to make us fill as VI persons. Kids love a lot the staff, very friendly indeed. The hotel is very small and quiet- If you search for parties or entertainment you will not find it here. You need car for meals, even though hotel restaurant is very good, and we often had our meals there. We would certainly come back to the hotel!

Room Tip: All rooms are nice, but ones being next to swimming pool and nicest and most expensive ones.

We booked 7 nights in one of their garden villas. It was low season so it was very quiet. Just us and another couple. The resort only has a handful of villas so expect it to be peaceful.
Our Villa was well maintained and spotlessly clean. The bedroom had a huge comfortable bed and flatscreen TV. The bathroom was large with a private massage table. There are two toilets in the villa. There is a large walk-in dressing room. The living room had a comfy sofa, a mini bar, a small sitting area and a flatscreen TV. The bathroom and the dressing area do not have airconditioning but the other rooms do. It being the warmest time of the year it did get a bit hot in these two rooms.
Bottled drinking water is provided daily free of charge. You can buy larger bottles at the reception for a small fee. Otherwise there is a Seven-Eleven supermarket about 15mins walk from the hotel.
Breakfast, which is a la carte, is served at the restaurant facing the beach. It is western cuisine, eggs , bacon, toast, pancakes, jams and fresh fruits.
We had dinner here a few times and found it to be tasty.
The only drawback was happy hour at the bar. It being low season it was empty and a bit lifeless. Maybe some music and candlelights might of helped make it a bit more romantic.
When the tide goes out the beach is very wide. You have to wade out quite a bit to be able to swim. The water quality compared to some of the beaches on Koh Samui was good. Great beach for small children. The sand is fine and there is no seaweed. The beach is kept clean in front of the hotel. Along the beach there are a few small resorts within walking distance. We ventured out a few times for lunch. Avoid Nikki Beach Hotel unless you are into techno music and younger than 30.
The staff were all very friendly. If you are looking for somewhere to relax and unwind this is definately the place to go to. We started the beginning of our holiday here and then went for the second part of our holiday to a busier part of the island and regretted doing so. Next time we shall just spend the entire 14 days here and perhaps rent a car which would be advisable since it is somewhat off the beaten track.

we stayed 13 nights at the Siam Residence in May 14. The villas are big, comfortable and clean and very attractively priced. Our stay during the low season was very quiet but with only 9 rooms I can't imagine it ever gets rowdy. The food was very good and the staff extremely attentive. The resort is in Lippa Noi which is approx. 3 miles from the centre of Nathong so you really need to hire transport for complete freedom but the Siam does have a minibus and driver which can be used. During our stay there were some very low tides which made bathing a trek but this changes completely during the high season. The pool is large and immaculate to match the manicured gardens. I will be returning to the Siam as it represents excellent value for money in an unspoilt environment and I can't praise the staff highly enough

Room Tip: Rooms are priced relative to their position and fittings, but I was more than happy with what we got...

The location is isolated, so if you wish you enjoy Thai restaurants shopping beaches -- this is not the place. The resort had a nice quiet little stretch of private beach and view. But their ads offering sea view from the villas is quite misleading - there's hardly a sea view if you have to strain to catch a glimpse of sea and sky amidst resort buildings trees and adjoining walls. See my photo.

The villlas are spacious, and nice to have a massage table in the large bathroom, But the view of an unkempt garden outside the huge bathroom windows was not pleasant. The design is quite poor. Many levels between rooms have an inch of difference and I had to watch out for the sharp jagged edges. The kettle had to be plugged far away from the food station. For a 250+ square foot huge bathroom, the toilet and shower are compressed into 3x3 stalls -- felt I was in an economy cabin in a ship! The safe was way down at floor level - why so low I cannot imagine. Only one 3 point outlet in my villa.

The people are attentive, although management chose to decidedly ignore my complaint that a sea view ad should not have such a slit of a view! Food was OK, the chef and staff very helpful.

There were only 2-3 occupied villas when I stayed there, I wonder what the crowded conditions on their mini beach front would be when the hotel is full.

The glass spa room facing the ocean is a nice feature, massages had to be pre-ordered and booked hours in advance as the masseurs are all outsourced.

The beach is very rough and pebbly, and shallow to the knees for couple hundred feet into the ocean.

Like I said, quiet and isolated.

Room Tip: I stayed in Villa 103 with a minimalist view that was disappointing. Another villa is fractionally b...

Dear Mr. Madnani,

thank you very much for staying at The Siam Residence.

The villa resort is located on the quiet, idyllic west coast of Koh Samui and is promoted as an „oasis of peace“. In the closer surroundings there are some small restaurants which you reach in 10 – 20 walking minutes. Nathon the capital city of the island is approx. 3 km away where you may do the Shopping.

The villas are large and spacious (80 m² / 130 m²). We offer the following villa types: Family Villas Pool-Sea View / Garden View, Pool-Sea View, Garden View front / back area. From the "Pool-Sea View Villa" you see the pool as well as the sea. As the tastes about interior differ we are sorry, that the interior didn´t suit your taste.

Especially our return guests name the tropical garden of the Siam Residence "a paradise". The gardener maintains the garden constantly very affectionately. Daily!!!

During your stay a total of 6 villas were booked at the beginning of May. All our guests had sufficient space at the beach and the pool.

Usually massages are to be booked in advance (worldwide). At The Siam Residence also short-term reservations are possible. It´s a pitty that you didn´t enjoy massage while staying at our resort.

we are staying next door in the acclaimed Viva resort which we love. They have a good restaurant there, and we have been visiting others locally but decided to try this option next door for a change

The setting is exquisite, right on beach. Comfortable chairs. Attentive (after a reminder we were there) staff. normal problem with sorting out wine in this country - wine list has to be found on request ( I really don't know what hotels, restaurants, and resorts do with these items as they can never be found - why not combine with the main drinks menu?) and the usual 'mai mii to my request for a SB

None of this is special to Siam - getting white wine (and presumably red) is becoming very difficult here.

Suffice to say, food at restaurant was superb As was service. as was view over is magnificent

Room Tip: all seem to be nice andspacious
