We didn't stay here but we made the 60 minute drive 3 times from Fisherman's Village to dine here. The setting is 10 out of 10 as you gaze out at the sea, 10 metres away. During the day the views are of surrounding islands and the nearby Thai Naval Base. At night you are treated to a million stars and nothing but frogs to accompany your dinner. The service from the staff, particularly Zine & Oh was really great and they put the rest of the Island of Samui to shame for kindness alone. The menu is extensive and there is something for everyone, whether you just want a caesar salad or a delicious Australian filet mignon, they've got it! This is well off the beaten track and you are rewarded with great service, excellent food and setting to rival any, anywhere. Beautiful spot. 8 out 10.

I recently stayed here with my husband and small baby. We didn't necessarily seek to stay here (we were in Koh Samui for a wedding and this was one of the nearby accommodation options) but we were very pleasantly surprised with what we found.

We stayed in a pool villa on the beach side of the resort. It was absolutely perfect for us, as we could take our little bub swimming in our own private pool and not have to worry about other people splashing around. It also meant that we could swim whilst bub was napping which gave us a lot more flexibility than most bigger resorts.

Our room was beautifully decorated with thai furniture. The bed was a gorgeous four poster and there was also a small sitting area off to the side with a day bed and tv.

The bathroom had the biggest bath tub I've ever seen. Overall the bathroom could have done with an update as the shower recess was quite old and unattractive. This would be my only complaint about the room though.

The villa pool was quite small and shallow (only came up to my waist) but I liked this feature as it was definitely kid-friendly and there was a bigger pool (as well as the ocean) only about 50 metres away if you wanted to splash around and actually swim. Please note though that there is no pool safety fencing at all - our bub is not yet crawling so this wasn't a problem for us but could be for people with toddlers.

The service at the resort was wonderful. We were greeted with a welcome drink and advice that we had been given a free upgrade from our original booking. The front counter staff were always on call to assist wherever possible (taxi transfers/spa bookings/etc).

There is a restaurant on the beach at the resort that makes both Thai and western dishes. We only ordered the thai dishes and they were absolutely delicious. Breakfast was a little limited (very small portion of bacon and eggs) but was sufficiently supplemented with fresh fruit, toast and endless coffee. The restaurant staff were all very welcoming and attentive.

The location of the resort is a bit out of the way for people wanting to explore the island without independent transport. Essentially, it is as far away from the airport and Chewang as you can possibly get. That said, they do offer a free one-way shuttle to Chewang and the distance makes for a lovely, quiet getaway if that is what you're after.

Overall, I really loved my stay here and would absolutely recommend it to anyone wanting somewhere quiet and secluded without having to break the bank to achieve it. It is also very easy for families.

We were group of 6 and enjoyed every bit of it, carry a sheesha along with you if you are going as friends. The rooms were beautiful, airy, big and super comfortable! We stayed in the pool villa closest to the beach. It was perfect in every way! The staff are amazing and cater to your very need! The welcome drink is amazing and the warm towel presented during your wait for check in is just very refreshing. The food and drinks at the restaurant are amazing. One can have there own boats and do kayaking on there own in the beach connected to the resort. Its a bit expensive compared to the other properties around but a good value for money. The property was very well maintained and had a nice ambiance. Being an architect i would like to appreciate the space planning and well designed landscape around and inside the property for a divine feeling. The only issue is that Its located a bit afar from Bophut, where the city is majorly active. Kanok Buri resort is a place you would definitely come back to and recommend to your friends. Thank you very much for making our stay so pleasant!!!

i booked this accomodation (private pool villa) on behalf of my friends for their honeymoon. room and the whole property are very nice. service was not what you would expect in this category. nobody informed them about the shuttle service to chaweng. when one of my friends had an accident with the motorbike (you could see she has injuries) nobody did even ask what happend and if some assistance is required. the motorbike was rented through a rental shop the hotel is working with and when the shop wanted 7.500 baht (in the contract they stated 5.000 baht for damages) for a twisted handle bar and some scratches they just ignored how hard the couple had to discuss with the shop - employee. luckily after more than 2 hours of discussion they arranged to pay "only" the 5.000 as stated in the contract. when they checked out! the employee told them that they had a candlelight dinner and a 1hour massage/person included - how nice but a bit late!
i stayed at many places on samui and general in thailand and got much better service at cheaper accomodations.
all in all a bad performance, especialy for 1st timers in thailand and on their honeymoon.
i will never recomend this accomodation and i belive they make a difference if you book directly or get a good rate through an touroperator as i did for my friends, was nearly 50% cheaper than through direct booking.

My husband and I got married at Kanok Buri resort in July 2009! What a picture perfect place! It was everything and more. The rooms were beautiful, airy, big and super comfortable! We stayed in the pool villa closest to the beach. It was perfect in every way! The staff are amazing and cater to your very need! The food and drinks at the restaurant are just Devine! We truly could not fault the place! The lovely lady named "Gift" who corresponded by emails for our wedding was amazing! Great English and answered all of our questions and queries. Will definitely be back for a visit!!

Room Tip: Pool villa closest to the beach is lovely!!

Arrived for a long weekend on an early flight from Singapore and rooms were not ready, however we were able to get food in the pleasant restaurant located right on the beach.
Overall the resort consists of two parts, smaller rooms and some villas on the beach side of the road and self contained larger villas with private pool across the road. Neither are far from the quiet and pretty beach.
In terms of facilities and services - food was average, the pad thai was extremely disappointing. The spa provides a range of treatments and I had a very good hour long oll massage (not Thai). The gym is small and the equipment old. The staff were friendly but english was not widely or well spoken.
Think that the resort offered good value for money as the rooms were spacious and clean, but don't expect luxury that is delivered elsewhere. It was quiet and relaxing for our few days there.

On arrival for a 14 night stay we were met with not what was advertised, the hotel was tired and run down and villa was not in the location as advertised. However the staffs were amazing, food was great and very good value for money, the beach was awesome and clean. This hotel has great potential just needs a little TLC. Stayed two nights before finding another resort to move to. If you want to relax and chill this resort is in the best location but in my opinion it is way overpriced in its current state.
