Full disclosure ... I was invited to Ban Suriya by the owner ... along with 5 other couples/families for a detox/retox long weekend in May.

Stunning villa on one of the best and quietest beaches on Koh Samui.

So much to do at the villa ... my days went something like this ... get up, quick dip in the sea to wake myself up and then an hour of Muay Thai in the gym with Khun Eit who gets you working on the heavy bag and then some serious sparring ... jump in the pool to cool off and then a healthy breakfast to refuel ... a bit of chill time up in the tree house reading a book on a super sized and super comfy bean bag ... then an hour of personal training with Khun Sanya who takes you through the paces on the CrossCore machines they have in the gym (like TRX on steroids) ... another quick dip and then it is lunch ... prepared by Chef Tom in the villa's huge teaching kitchen and the food is to die for ... it's just like being in a deluxe Thai restaurant with a menu etc, except this one does lobster massaman curry ... post lunch, waddle to one of the 4 massage spots where a masseuse works out the many knots ... then it is over to Santaburi Golf Club for 9 holes of golf on an Asian Tour standard golf course ... back for sunset yoga with Khun Sanya (he is a genius) ... shower and change ... meet the rest of the crew for mango margaritas and pre-dinner spring rolls before a barbecue on the beach ... launch some khom loy lanterns which take the bad karma away ... and then it is back on the super comfy beanbags in front of the huge outdoor screen to watch the latest Hollywood blockbuster ... whittle the rest of the night away around the pool and table tennis tables drinking singha beers and recounting missed putts and lost balls from the golf.

Or do nothing at all ... chill by the pool whilst listening to the waves and getting bronzed, interrupted by massages and manicures or chess matches on the giant chess board.

Also many thanks to Khun Tik, the villa manager, and her team of fairies that looked after us so well.

A Fabulous Location.

Most amazing house I have ever stayed in. My shoulders dropped two inches the minute I walked through the front door. If you can't relax here there is something wrong with you!
Just stunning. Everything is styled like something out of an interiors mag but yet is so relaxing, inviting and kid friendly. The staff are the best I have ever experienced in Asia and nothing is ever a problem. My kids have never stopped talking about the outdoor cinema, the tree house, their own pool! I just did not want to leave and may have shed a tear.
Go and experience this place just once in life- best villa in Thailand I reckon.

Room Tip: All divine! Loved the beach bedroom.

Our vistis to Koh Samui are now in the double digits, and by far the best place we have stayed there is Ban Suriya.

When you walk through the front door you are greeted by villa manager Khan Tic and her amazing staff, and are swiftly given a fresh drink and cold towel. Within 5 minutes you have forgotten about everything else and are completely relaxed looking over the pool, expansive grounds and through to the private beach.

It is perfect to go with a group of friends or family as the layout lends itself to privacy for everyone, which is rare in a group villa.

Activities are basically unlimited. The in-house gym is great and yoga, personal trainers and thai boxing experst are all only a call away. As many massages and spa treatments as you can handle can be arranged (did I mention there is also a spa room!) and water sports are a few steps away.

The food is some of the best I have had in Thailand and the chef also offers cooking classes. If you have children you can request whatever food you need to be cooked for them - and this can even be served on the grass via a picnic, on a beanbag watching the outdoor cinema or up in the tree house... a child's paradise. There are also 2 rooms for DVD/TV viewing at anytime (in additonal to all bedrooms having TV's)

Adults can make the most of the pool bar or relax on the sun lounges while kids swim in the glass fronted pool.

We have now been 4 times now, and I still rank it as the best villa in Asia for friends and families!

Room Tip: All rooms are great!

This is now our 3rd stay at Ban Suriya and we can not get enough of it.

From the moment you step into the ground of Ban Suryia, you know that you will have a very special and unique time. If you think that the website pictures are amazing, then you are in for a treat; the reality is even better.
The staff is here to welcome you on arrival and during the whole of your stay they will provide you with an exceptionally professional and friendly service. Nothing is to difficult for them to organise even if you decide late in the day.
Whether you are into sport, pampering, partying, doing nothing or all of it... It has everything you can wish for. And if it is not here, Kun Tik (the excellent villa manager) will organise it for you - spa, yoga, massage, thai boxing, fireworks...
This is the perfect place to have a family holiday and our 3 years old boy keeps asking us to go back; he just adores the outdoor billard and the giant chess board! For older kids, the game room, large lawn and cool swimming pools are sure to be a hit. And that is before you even reach the beach.
Something not to miss is an evening watching movie on the large outdoor screen under the stars!
The bedrooms are all immaculate and decorated with impeccable taste. And there again there is something for every one - total privacy on the beach with the Wave room, jumping from your bed to the pool with the Aqua or the Peacock rooms.

Last but not least, the food is always gorgeous with a very extensive menu. The chef cooks fresh products from the local markets everyday; a special mention to his chicken basil, mango and sticky rice and chocolate mousse.

In summary, all the service and amenity of a luxury resort without having to share it with anybody else but your friends and family. Best villa we have ever stayed in in Asia.

Room Tip: All rooms are very good but the Wave room is ideal for couple wanting privacy when booking for a group.

Our extended family of 9 children and 5 adults have just spent the most wonderful Christmas and New Year at Ban Suraya. The staff were exceptional. The food better than most restaurants we tried. The lawn was large enough for the boys to play cricket and they also enjoyed table tennis as well as games in the pool. The girls commandeered the spa , setting up a beauty salon which kept them very happy. We had a yoga teacher , massages, a boat trip to the islands , all arranged quietly and efficiently by Kun Tik, the manager. The villa was really lovely. Excellent bedrooms and lots of space in the rest of the villa for different activities. We could be as informal as we wished with the amenities of a first class hotel.
