Stays there for 5 nights in June 2013 with two small children at 7 month and 3,5 years. Very nice and well kept resort at lipa noi. The beach is very beautiful and the sunsets are amazing here. The best we had in Koh Samui! Nice big areas for children to play, and ocean is good for children as well. No big big waves, but small and "funny" ones. Restaurant is very very good for Thai food and breakfast is better then normal standard. Staff is great and loves to play with children. I saw them prepare a room for som new guests and the cleaned the whole room for beds etc, and cleaned it very well before returning all furniture. The resort is 2 areas with 50 m walkway between. We stayd in beachfront bungalow at the far end, and this was a vey modern bungalow with great view. The only minus is that the wifi do not work in this place, but it works fine in the restaurant and pool area. It is "far" away to any shops, and not many other beach restaurant in the area, but if this is not necessary I would recommend this resort 100 %

Nice bungalow but not clean enough, lovely location and good beach - not clean again. Indeed the only reason we went there was because we needed to catch the raja ferry next day.
The best thing was the sunset we were able to admire. We also had an amazing diner at the restaurant. Hotel price for taxi 200 baht to pier which is 2 km away was not reasonable.

We arrived here to be upgraded from a basic bungalow to a lovely seafacing one. Very spacious, opposite the small pool with the sea beyond. The bungalows were cleaned thoroughly every day and everyone who worked here was very friendly and efficient. Although the hotel restaurant is rather pricey it is worth it for the food and the beautiful situation overlooking the sea.I cannot fault this place. Even within walking distance for Nikki Beach famous Sunday lunch! If I am in Koh Samui would definitely stay here again.

We stayed at Nikki Beach, not Lipa Lovely. But a fellow guest told us about the massages at Lipa, which are to die for. You can usually book same day and the 2 female masseuses are fabulous. We got a 1-2 hour massage everyday during our stay. The Thai massage costs 350 baht an hour (about $12 USD). The massage area is set up next to the beach in a partially enclosed hut. They use towels to cover your bits. All together it was decently private and a great ambiance. And it was only a 5 minute walk from Nikki Beach. Perfect!

The masseuses at Lipa Lovely are gentle but firm with pressure. I had a massage at our resort and it was really painful for me with crazy fast jerking and hard pinching/squeezing (although, full disclosure, my husband enjoyed it). The masseuses at Lipa Lovely were controlled and careful with the stretching and massaging and used ample amounts of lotion so that the Thai style squeezing didn't pinch our skin.

Overall I thought they did a fabulous job and were very nice. You should definitely try them out.

We booked this at the last minute when we had a problem with our other hotel, and were upgraded as we had booked with Booking.com to a garden bungalow. It was very pleasant, much bigger than we expected, and we enjoyed our stay very much. At 7600THB for 4 nights thought it was exceptional value.
There was a problem with the pool, but it was being fixed as we left. Everything is expensive in the hotel restaurant but there are several roadside cafes that sell fab food very cheaply just across the road. For example, the hotel wanted 200THB for big bottle of Chang, whilst 200 yards away we got them for 50 THB. The cafe had chicken fried rice for 50 THB, and was delicious, and we recognised lots of people who were staying near us eating there. You had to be quick to get a table at times and it was like that for several hours.
Breakfasts are good but are never hot no matter how early you go down but that was repeated in several hotels we went to, although they did cook fresh eggs for you in several forms, which were good.
The beach was superb and very quiet, with beautiful white sand. The swimming is safe and delicious. As someone has quite rightly said, if you want shops and discos, this is not the place for you. But if you want a good hotel with sunsets to die for, great value, this is for you.

Booked here following a very expensive resort elsewhere on the island, which influences the scores. We needed to save some money and also see the sunset over the water. If you want some peace and relaxation for not much money, this is your spot. There is not much to do, but the beach is nice and the sunset is beautiful. We paid for the beach side room, but you can probably save money and stay in a garden room since it is a small resort and there is little difference except the aspect of the doors. Definitely eat across the road at the line of little shops and cafes, very cheap and good food. They also sell beer etc which you can take back to your room. We did not eat at the resort restaurant (Big John) since we were only there for a couple days, but the food looked good and seemed everyone was enjoying it. The night we arrived they had live music and we all had a good time drinking beer and singing along. DO NOT eat at the resort called Lipa Lodge turning right down the beach 200m, we stopped for a drink and ended up staying for a terrible meal. Anyway, Lipa Lovely was nice enough, family friendly, fair price, and tranquil. Staff and guests were nice, and I'm glad we saw different parts of the island, taking in both sunrise and sunset, as well as more lively areas and quieter bits.

We recently stayed at Lipa Lovely for 3 days. We stayed in the newer bungalows away from the pool and restaurant. Good swimming beach. While we liked the resort, the Big John restaurant was ridiculously expensive. Especially for Thailand. After we checked in, we went to the restaurant for a beer and a snack. 120baht for a small Singha!!!! While I appreciate all businesses must make a profit, this is over the top. 170baht for pad thai. Are you kidding me!!! Luckily there is a lovely family operation just across the street where we had pad thai for 50baht (which is what it should cost) 40baht for a small Singha and 50baht for a fruit shake. My son took his laundry there and it cost him 120baht for the whole bag, while Lipa Lovely wanted 40baht just for 1 pair of shorts. They charged by the piece if you wanted your laundry done. Needless to say, we frequented the family restaurant for all of our meals and needs, except for breakfast, which was included in the room cost. The breakfast was very good as was the food, but the prices were too 5 star for the resort. It is definitely worth a trip to Nathon, where they have a great market right along the pier. They close the street to traffic. Lots of food vendors with great food and prices as well as shopping bargains and I would definitely recommend a visit there. It cost us 200baht to take a taxi for the 4 of us. And again, the wonderful family across the street pretty well took care of all our needs. We would buy all our Singha's there and bring them back to the resort. I can't believe anyone would eat at the Big John restaurant considering the cost of everything. It is outright gouging. Would we stay there again, absolutely, would we frequent the restaurant, absolutely NOT!!!

Room Tip: There are 2 sides to this resort. Bungalows across from the pool and near the restaurant and then th...
