We decided to spend two nights camping here to watch a water rescue display by the Newfoundland dogs. We arrived Friday afternoon. Although in the information it stated pitches are allocated, alarm bells rang when our ticket stated "No Pitch Allocation". It is a large site but no map was supplied as we entered and nobody could really tell us where our allocated area was. We drove around the ridiculous one way system trying to locate some signs or directions. Eventually we came across an area we thought was ours. There were no pitches just turn up and find a space and claim it. We got the tent up in a space we found and went for some provisions off site. The queues coming in we're tailing back some distance. We got back to find a lot more tents had gone up with associated vehicles everywhere, and they were still streaming in. On site there are some very large funfairs, think Blackpool only tackier, and that evening the American rock and roll music started on the adjacent field over loudspeakers. This continued until midnight, and throughout the night cars were circulating around the road system, right through until early morning, some playing the usual loud music, so sleeping was out of the question. In the morning we visited the shower block, the floors were awash, and a nice touch was seeing the cleaner mopping out the toilets and shower cubicles with the same mop. On our return to our tent there were even more people trying to cram onto an already overcrowded field, and a young boy racing up and down on his mini scrambler weaving among tents and cars. We watched an excellent Newfoundland dog display and made the mistake of going off site to drop our daughter at the station. On our return it was grid locked, and took us 40 minutes to travel 300 metres from the entrance to our tent. The place was crammed with more and more cars attempting to get in. There was no effort by staff to control the chaos, "for staff read young kids in track suits etc". The place was an utter shambles. We decided if Friday night was bad Saturday was going to be a lot worse. We collapsed the tent packed and left. In summary if you enjoy a loud, overcrowded, chaotic, low quality camping experience, complete with cheap and tacky funfairs and entertainment then this is for you. Someone described it to us as "Chav city", how right they are. At £20 a night it is a complete rip off. Never again.

We live near here so don't stay on site so can't comment about the shower or toilet facilities. We general visit when there is something going on like the Balloon Festival this weekend. The £10 entrance fee is fairly good value, although the rides are overpriced. We have 4 grandchildren and 3 rides costs us over £35 for not even 1/2 hour of our time. We passed through the club house which was messy but busy. The site is vast which is good if like my grand kids, you like running or cycling. Considering it is a family site, it is disappointing that for the majority of the time you have to walk on the road to get from A to B as there are no footpaths. Also the surface near the fair and shops on site is very uneven and treacherous for old and young alike who are a bit unsteady on their feet

Stayed in a hire fleet static. Had read reviews and went with open mind but was still disappointed as hsd been looking forward to holiday away in order to attend a mini event at Santa Pod.
Good points - nice clean park with little rubbish (apart from bird poo), crazy golf, fun fair and play parks can't be faulted. Vinnie's Indian great food. Swimming pool nice and clean and pool area family friendly. Venue complex assistant acting manager (unsure of title) took on board issues and was passing on to her manager.
Not so good points - loyalty offer on back of passes- told it had expired(no date), when spoke to visitor centre manager she didn't seem interested with gaining repeat custom and argued with each issue that I raised (if addressed could make an amazing park), speeding by visitors and park staff, park staff on phone while driving, people avoiding speed bumps, no walkways apart from being advised to walk on grass (not pram friendly), very little changing facilities in changing rooms, nudity in changing rooms while young children are about, visitor centre staff appauling- poor customer service skills by visitor centre manager, security gate operation is poor, especially during busy check in. A second gate may be opened but not for long enough or reopened quick enough. Unscheduled fireworks during weekend events (park security were notified and dealt with as they could). Fun fair shut without any notice or explanation. Shops shut until promotional video/picture shoot! Stayed Friday to Friday and don't think fish and chip shop (near shop) was open once.
Have spoken to and raised with park manager and he is now looking at how to address these to improve park standards(only 2nd day in job). I don't know if my family will be back.

Booked a 3 night stay in the camping pod. We stayed one night. Don't get me wrong - the camping pod was lovely, the site itself on the other hand.....
The swimming pool - the pool was a lovely temperature and clean. The changing rooms were dirty, the doors were hanging off the lockers (that's if they had doors on them)
We went to the bar for a drink - the tables were dirty and the staff were pleasant but something was missing....
I had a sense of foreboding as soon as we visited the visitors centre on arrival. The lady at the desk was lacking enthusiasm like every question was a big effort. If she didn't want to be there..... :-/
The fair was hardly open. Out of season it closes at 1600. In season it seemed it closes at 1605.
We stayed less than 24 hours. We handed our keys in and we weren't asked if we enjoyed our trip or query why we were leaving so early. Perhaps us leaving 2 days early gave her every answer she needed.
Next time I think I'll stay at the Premier Inn next door

Arrived at 9.30am to be told we couldnt get in our accommodation till 3pm to then be told 4pm when arriving at the caravan found plumbers working on boiler n flooded which sed it was unfit n to be then put in a smaller caravan 45mins later. There was nowhere hardly open on the site. And the disgusting smell of people smoking drugs all round the site. No entertainment during week days after first day nothing to do. Very disappointed never would return.
