We travelled as a family of 6,2 adults,4 kids aged from 5-18 years. This was a great holiday. The villa is lovely, clean, modern and well equipped. Beds a little firm but not a problem. Paul and Fabienne are also lovely, very friendly and always ready to help and advise. The villa is in a quiet and picturesque village on the wine route and has several good restaurants in walking distance. Alsace is really interesting with lots to visit and see,the Vosges are a real highlight.
Overall this is a five star property and holiday,I would echo the other reviews. Would strongly recommend for all types of visitor, familes, couples, teens, younger kids.

We were made very welcome by Fabienne and Paul to this wonderful house. It is very old but has been tastefully modernised inside without losing its charm. Filled with interesting and shabby chic furniture it is very comfortable. The photographs do not do it justice. We really enjoyed our stay here not least because of our lovely hosts. They made us feel so welcome, Paul even took us for a wine tasting in the village and the organic wine was superb so we had to take some home.
We love Alsace it is full of beautiful villages and we had a really enjoyable time here in a little known part of France. Why people do not come here on holiday I do not know? We had a wonderful week, in part due to our hospitable hosts.
Thank you Fabienne and Paul.

This is a beautiful house, tastefully renovated and we felt even better than the photos suggest. The house is spacious and light, large bedrooms, large living space and plenty of outside space for alfresco dining and BBQ. Paul and Fabienne are delightful hosts, very helpful and accommodating when needed. We were greeted on arrival and Paul even accompanied us to the local supermarket to ensure we had enough food to see us over the upcoming bank holiday! The area is a lovely part of France, and Mittelbergheim is a small village but literally surrounded by vineyards, with over 20 small wine producers on your doorstep - you don't need to go shopping for wine, just pop down the road for a tasting and buy as much or as little as you want. Easy road access to the whole region, Strasbourg well worth a visit only 30kms away and Germany just a stones throw away across the Rhein. If travelling from the UK, certainly worth the very easy drive from Calais. We would certainly love to return both to the area but also to this particular house as we wanted for nothing during our stay.

A beautiful 1588 winery house in the heart of a top class and picturesque wine village. Paul & Fabienne graciously made us feel most welcome. Th rooms are spacious and tastefully renovated, with an enclosed courtyard and space to relax and catch the sun.
The environs allow for walking, cycling and driving around the beautiful vineyard villages, We very much enjoyed Strasbourg (30 mins, easy run) and hopping into Germany (30 mins too).
Enchanting.

We hadn't been to Alsace before and really enjoyed this part of France - the beautiful villages (Mittelbergheim being particularly attractive) and vineyards, the Vosges mountains in very close proximity for good walking and cycling and a short strike to Strasbourg and Freiberg over the border.
Fabienne met us with keys and showed us round on arrival before cycling off to the nearest restaurant in the village to check if they were still open for us to eat. The house is beautiful, spacious, light and well equipped - always a good sign when there's a rolling pin! As you can see on the website pictures it is an old house but has been nicely renovated. It has a large courtyard garden which was good for catching the sun, eating meals outside and the barbeque proved useful. Be aware there are 4 bedrooms but one of the singles is off the double and that 2 of the bedrooms are up a fairly steep set of stairs though there is a child gate available at the top of these.
Decent amounts of information within the house and Fabienne and Paul were available for extra information if needed. They were lovely hosts.
We would definitely recommend this property and its location.
For information - not sure the website made clear that you need to bring your own towels, though Fabienne e mailed this in advance. Also no DVD player though mentioned on website and additionally you need to clean before leaving or there is a charge of 38 euros - however, very clean property with easy to clean surfaces and well equipped with cleaning materials so not really a chore.

We had a wonderful time in Mittelbergheim! This place is completely different from anywhere we've stayed before and authentically Alsace as is possible. There is very little catering for tourists and if you're after action-packed and fast-paced then this is not for you but if you appreciate authentic culture, food and wine and a very warm welcome, and could do with a good break from the norm then this is the place for you. Paul and Fabienne are extremely lovely people and made us feel very welcome, we'd love to come back here some day.
We had a marvellous week in this region of Alsace using this very comfortable and well appointed gite as our base. Paul and Fabienne Hirtz were warm and welcoming with freely given advice to help us explore the region. Thoroughly recommended.
